Compared to the hundreds of flat pack, mass produced courses in the southeast, this place is a gem. The scenery and views, particularly from the top of the course, are outstanding. This, of course, means there are a fair few climbs but that in turn lends itself to some great downhill tee shots. Not sure what they consider their signature hole but there are half a dozen that would fit the bill at many clubs. Almost incidentally, fairways and greens were very good. As has been mentioned before, there are a few holes that require a drive over another fairway and, I guess, that might be problematic on a busy day (I played late on a Sunday afternoon and it was empty) I didn't spend any time in the clubhouse or changing room so can't comment on that.

I first played Willingdon a few years ago, after being greeted by the friendly staff in the pro shop i tee'd up on the 1st tee. The course was in excellent condition with the fairways and greens being very well maintained and keep to a consistent speed. After this round i was decided to take up a junior membership. And i don't regret it, the members both junior and adult are friendly and more then happy to offer advise or to play with you when play gets slower on the busier days or when there is a competition. To round this up, the course is really well kept, the staff and members are friendly and helpful. The course offers a difficult challenge on some of the holes most noticeable the 5th called the "sleeper" So called as the raised green is protected by railway sleepers. 10/10 Lovely course, would recommend to anyone.

Well kept and scenic course with some testing holes. From a completely personal point of view i didn't like teeing across other fairways. However i thoroughly enjoyed playing a course where many of my old mates at school had been junior members.
