Recently played Wetherby and WOW. The course was in great condition with the greens as good as most play in the summer. The new layout is superb and although a couple of holes are not quite right yet the overall course is a great test for all abilities.
Played on a winter warmer deal £25 for golf and a 1 course meal, great value. We were well looked after throughout and I got a great deal in the golf shop, well worth a look.
Have just played the new format course. Six new holes and two modified. SSS now 72. More spacious but just as punishing to the wayward.
They also have a new catering setup. Brilliant.
Recently played and very noticeable improvements over the last two years. Course looks very tidy and obviously the new head greenkeeper is making his mark felt. A very pleasant course to play but you need to keep straight if you are not to avoid the out of bounds, river and the copses of mature trees. Definitely worth a visit and you can be assured of receiving a warm welcome from all concened. It is advisable to contact the professional before turning up to play and I think their telephone number has changed from that advertised to 01937 580089. One of the nicest perspectives from a clubhouse that you could wish for.
Well a stunner a fat beauty of a course. From rolling fairways to the sensational smooth greens surrounded by tough bunkers that test the best of us. The small compact course is full of entertainment. The members are pleasant and not the complaining type. The food is good and the chips are the best in the world so come and enjoy this region.
I think that Wetherby Golf Club is very mediocre, over rated and expensive. The members are all stuck up and do not like visitors. On the course the greens were very low on the stimp meter and the course was short and easy. The food was very average and again expensive. Overall I would not recommend this course because it is expensive, poor, and not welcoming.
A very enjoyable parkland course that meanders through mature silver birch trees adjacent to the river Warfe. A good test of accurate golf with excellent greens. overall very flat for the first 14 holes only the last few involove a couple a hills. I would certainly go back there. Very nice friendly clubhouse with great food.
