I turned up without booking and played this afternoon. (perfect sunshine and light summer breeze. Was warmly welcomed by everyone and enjoyed a lovely round on my own. The course was very quiet and I played at my own pace (8 weeks post spine operation) without any problems at all. The course is in excellent condition and like every other course is pretty parched in places. Greens are generally great with some very difficult reads. It's not a difficult course, but you have to play very straight as there is little room and the greens are small. I despair of the negative reviews on the site - Its exactly as described on their website and is a bit of gem in my opinion. A lovely little course, incredibly cheap to play, well organised, warm & friendly and altogether a great place to spend an afternoon.

Like many others I agree with Chris, Nothing positive can be said about this place. It is home to the strange and weird. It seems to attract the wrong kind of golfers that use the game as an excuse to get drunk and cause a general nuisance of themselves. I think its also fair to point out the owners have left fake reviews here. Would not recommend this golf club to anyone as no one seems to play real golf here. They are all It seems to attract the wrong kind of golfers with bad attitudes from the surrounding area. This golf club is well hated across all across Kent and Sussex. Puts the game of golf to shame. Do not bring children here. WARNING DO NOT VISIT THIS GOLF CLUB

I was a member of TWGC for seventeen years and learnt my golf there. In fact it was my second home! You will always get a warm welcome there. The course is not the longest you'll ever play but you need to be a straight hitter with all holes fraught with danger. The second green is one of the most undulating greens you will encounter anywhere. The signature hole is the 8/17th. Playing it as the eighth, it is a very good par 4 which certainly requires a big fading drive to enable a shot of 170 yds over a valley to a back to front sloping green protected by a large bunker and surrounded by large rocks. The greens in summer are usually very good and true. On completion of your round make sure you visit the bar and meet Richard (Charles) who is sure to give you a warm welcome. Oh Yes, avoid Wednesday afternoons as the course is full of tea drinkers, usually 20 - 30 of them!!

In some ways, I can concur with previous comments that cross-over fairways and layout (greens to next tees) are frustrating, however when taken as an overview, this is a rather pleasant and interesting course. It isn't long but when we played it, it was a thoroughly enjoyable round -despite the constant drizzle! The greens are in good condition and the fairways were also good bearing in mind the hot and dry summer we have just had. It is tree-lined and had the illusion of being miles from anywhere. The welcome we received from the Bar Manager and Secretary was excellent and they deserve a constant stream of visitors with that attitude. £10 for 9 holes was good value.

I live in Tunbridge Wells and have played this course. Suffice to say I would rather travel to Poult Wood in tonbridge, Lullingstone in Orpington and Pedham 18 in Swanley than play here again. The course is somehow ugly and the crossing fairways very annoying. I wish I could say something positive about my local club but I can't.

I disagree with the first comment. Although some holes do cross, I found the greens and general condition of the course excellent. The course is tight but very challenging. I would recommend it to anybody

After a warm reception by the bar manager things quickly went down hill. The course is very poorly laid out and sign posts were non existant. The irritation levels soared when the temp. greems were used, as they were badly clipped and seemingly unrolled. Regulars on the course also seemed less than impressed and were taking it out on fellow golfers. The courses holes frequently cross each other, causing further clashes and some hazardous play. Not a course for the faint hearted and certainly not one I will revisit even at £10.00 for 9 holes.
