Visited the course on Sunday 10th June after booking a fourball for £80, which for a weekend was very reasonable. Some lovely driving holes from different elevations. Very lush after a lot of recent rain but in great condition. can't comment on the previous poster's views as we ate elsewhere.
What's happened??? Played here for many years and always found it friendly - lived up to stating you would get a warm welcome..well that's gone by the wayside.
Lady who done the buffet on our last visit....gone.
Lady who took our booking and did give us a friendly, warm welcome...gone. What's the committee playing at? Spoke to a few members and even they were not pleased that these 2 lovely ladies had been let go.
Course still great - hats off to the greenkeeper - he's doing a great job. Pity he's the only one. As for clubhouse..forget it
Played during second week of September in very high winds. Very welcoming in the clubhouse and course in very good condition despite heavy overnight rain. Fantastic setting, especially the sixth hole.
Highly recommended if visiting the Borders.
The second course on our 2010 tour, I have played torwoodlee several times now and never tire. The course was in great shape once again and the lady in the clubhouse more than welcoming where nothing was a problem, we took the £14 food package and failed to finish all the hot buffet food (too much) so good value indeed! I will once again be returning
Played this course on 18th Sept and this is a very friendly clubhouse.Course wasnt in the best condition with the greens very slow and preffered lies in operation.Still well worth a vist as it has some stunning views.
Absolutley brilliant course. Play here!!
I played Torwoodlee last week and I was very impressed from the moment I arrived there. The staff were very accommodating and gave a warm welcome. The course was in superb condition with well manicured fairways and excellent putting surfaces. The course has some very interesting holes and had stunning scenary from several holes. I preferred what I think is the original part of the course (you have to cross a bridge to get to a seperate section of the golf course) but even this part of the course was enjoyable with some challenging holes. I had a fantastic time at Torwoodlee and I will be returning in the near future.
My 2nd visit here as per my previous comments from 2003 again the course was great, pity the greens had just been fertilized and in need of a cut as they ran very slow. Other than this a great day out once again. The steward in the clubhouse was again very friendly and helpful with nothing a problem. Soup & Sarnis a must as delicious. Well worth a play if you are in the area.
A superb golf course and very welcoming and helpful staff. We will be back!!!

What can I say , after reading the reviews of the course on this site we thought we'd give Torwoodlee a try and I've gotta say we were VERY glad we did.The course was in great condition as were the green and bunkers, lots of damn nice holes in my opinion but the ones that stood out for me were the driveable par 4 6th hole (had to kiss my new Cobra driver for this shot hehe) and the long par 4 11th hole(Monkey Puzzle)uphill dogleft left.Clubhouse staff were very friendly and the food reasonably priced.
All in all well worth the trip !

What a stunning course. From the moment you drive down into the Golf Club you know you are in for a treat. Lovely Clubhouse with friendly staff willing for a natter. The 8 holes that are close to the clubhouse and in the valley with trees and hills all around are superb. Some fairways are a bit tight to one another for higher handicap golfers making tee shots of precision a must. The 10 holes over the railway lines are a bit more undulating but still a good test for all golfers. Hole number 6 the one that stood out for me, you need sweets to suck on you are that high up, you drive over a farm wall on the left and can easily reach the green or just short on a windy day, if you have a buggy watch out it does not get away from you!!! All in all a must for visitors to the scottish borders (this was our first Scottish trip and this course lived up to its recommendations)
This course has a very picturesque and peaceful setting. Surrounded by woods and river we couldn't fail to enjoy our day. The holes vary in character with steep holes and flat holes and others that dog-leg through the trees. Definitely one of the best courses in the area and thoroughly recommended.
We played this course as part of a 12-course tour of the Borders. This was our favourite course. A gorgeous setting with some spectacular holes including one of the best driving holes we have ever played. The course was in great condition. An absolute must on a golfing trip to the Borders. We'll be back here every year.
Beautifully set parkland course with undulating fairways and many natural hazards.
Very friendly staff and quaint clubhouse
