Another example of why the older designed courses are so much more interesting to play. This course dates back to 1908, Vardon designed, and the majority of the holes need some thought into how to tackle them; with a few sharp doglegs, and a couple of drivable greens. I played it on a windy autumn morning, with great views from the top of the course. Greens and fairways well maintained, clubhouse welcoming... Well worth a visit.
Superb Vardon designed course with great variety and excellent greens. Drains well so playable all year,most weather, but beware the "Mendip Mist" since the course is at c.270m altitude. Fairways better than many greens elsewhere, and the rough is tough enough for anyone!
