Played this course on a Monday afternoon with 12 members of a Golf Society. The course was in excellent condition,it also held up very well with the heavy showers that we experienced beforehand and during play. The greens were true and the fairways some of the best we've played. Sinage (a usual problem) wasn't brilliant from a visitors perspective especially crossing the road from the 17th to 18th. Also yardage signs on the yellow tees would be helpfull. The organisation of the pro shop didn't seem that good, they weren't aware of the package that was agreed , struggled to sell me a pencil and had no still water in stock. Apart from the minor issues overall the day was excellent, the course was a pleasure to play it's challenging with long par 3's and has an interesting variety of holes. Would love to go back and play on a sunnny day !

Played this course in mid august when weather conditions were ideal. The greens left a lot to be desired and the fairways were a bit unkempt and required cutting. We had heard what a nice course silkstone was and we were quite disappointed.A point to bear in mind is that 2 fore 1` tickets are at day rate but they don't tell you until you get there. This means in effect that if you just want a round using vouchers (ignore what this webb site tells you) you will pay at least £16.00 each. They couldn,t make up their mind when we went as there were three of us and they wanted to charge us £54 in total for some reason.Make sure when you book.

Played this course 26may04 with the gunstones golf society. Great day, great course, lovely weather and excellent food. Got my 1st hole in 1 on the par 3 18th, what a feeling.

Varied & interesting course definatly worth a round, if you want to play a course with very god true greens this is for you. It could do with better directions for visitors between hole & tees but other than that I definatly couldnt fault it. Be warned one round is enough in that it can be heavy going but dont let this put you off, once visited you will return.
