Played here midweek June 07. This is the new course which replaced the old course that was in the middle of the racetrack. It's fairly flat & openish with quite a few big oaks dotted around. Overall i thought it was a bit bland & uninspiring . It started off quite well but i started to go off it from the 7th onwards. Halfway through the back 9 i'd lost interest in it & we skipped 2 holes due to the slowness of play ,not helped by the 2 ball that jumped in front of us on the 10th tee. The overall course condition was good (very good fairways considering how new it is)& it drains very well but the main problem when i look back was the lack of memorable holes.None of the 6 par 3's really stood out & the long par 5 18th seemed to go on forever. Although this is my home club I still feel its beneficial hearing a report from all angles. Ali, the club pro, and his team do a superb job of making all feel welcome to this course. His advice and help before the round is always welcome, and further to what the gentleman said below, he is not strict on rounds for non members, I have seen plenty turn up and play. The new course itself is a great one. Challenging but at the same time good scores are achievable, I play off 16 and 81 has been my best. Well thought out holes, with the 12th and 7th proving the most challenging, both difficult par 4s. Back nine is long particularly the par 4s, but finishes with a great 18th up to the clubhouse, aptly named "hungry hill." Good food and good beer in the clubhouse, most importantly very reasonably priced. Facilities are great in the new clubhouse, I would thoroughly recommend a visit.

Ascot is a great course, espically the new one, its beautifull looking course and fun to play. The new course is some 600m away fromt the old one but still there re veiws of the race course.

I'm not sure that they're totally strict on the 'no visitors' policy - I've played there a few times by asking nicely and it's a fun course. It's not long and gives you a decent chance of turning in a good score with the added interest of being right in the middle of Ascot Race Course (played there once, the day before a race day and they'd taken out all the pins for some reason). Good greens, nice condition - pleasant day out.
