3 reviews of Romiley Golf Club Ltd
This is flagged on ukgolfguide.com as one of the best courses in Cheshire. If that is so, the members of Delamere Forest, Sandiway, Eaton, Stockport and half a dozen more I can think of should be laughing themselves silly.
The course when I played it was good, certainly, but it is an ordinary, typical parkland similar to dozens of others. It wasn't in great condition, and many of the tees are packed close to the previous greens. We played after a couple of days of rain, and parts of the course were decidedly squelchy. I won't try it in winter.
On the plus side, the greens were good, the proshop welcome was great, and the Clubhouse staff were also very helpful.
Visited with our small Society on 7th September. Romiley is really an ideal venue where, as a visitor, you are made to feel like a member for the day........just as it should be.
The course is a real challenge with just about every hole being tree lined on both sides. There are some great driving holes and the four par 3's are really tricky. Aided by good weather, the course was in perfect condition and the greens in particular, were perfect.
Off the course you are met with a very friendly set of staff and members who were genuinely concerned that we were enjoying our day. The clubhouse facilities are ideal and all at a sensible green fee.
If you are in the area you should visit Romiley and enjoy both the course and the hospitality.
