The quality of the greens (probably the best in the North of England)and the well manicured, excellent quality fairways are well worth a thousand mile journey. Play it, enjoy it. The Club Pro (i don't know his name)seems very happy with his job :) unlike others I've come across now and again up and down the country who are grumpy, miserable souls :)
Fairly new course and still maturing but has a good layout with water a feature on a few holes.
Excellent round of golf and a challenge for everyone.
New club house to be opened by Colin Montgomery in August.
