Lovely greens, the clubhouse looks great but the catering for the public was very poor.breakfast finished at 10.30 with a very minimal menu, lunch menu not much better, the bar could do with being better stocked, wont be coming here again.

Improved greatly over the past 2 years! Look forward to seeing where it gets taken in the future.

Played here today and have to say that I thought it was great value. Only a 9 hole course but it was in fantastic condition. It only cost £11, which is a lot less than others in the area. We enjoyed it so much we paid another £7 for another nine holes. Atmosphere at the club was also good with a BBQ going on and lots of smiling faces. I will definitely be going back and would recommend it to anyone. Give it a go, you will be suprised.

Played last week, for the first time in a while and I have to say the course is barely recognisable from before. The greens have improved beyond belief, which was my main reason for not playing there more often as it has always been a good layout. The service was excellent right from the off and the food in the Clubhouse was great value. I will be playing here more often from now on as a good 9 hole course is perfect for after work. Well done Rokers, keep it up!

Played the course recently. The course was immaculate and very good value for money. The greens are in excellent condition. A nice course for someone beginning golf.

I wanted to update my comments of last year. Despite saying I wouldn't return, the great weather and convenient location got the better of me. The greens are now in excellent condition, maybe they just took time to get them right. Therefore this is now an excellent pay and play 9 hole.

A good value for money 9 hole course that offers good distance and some challenging holes. Greens were obviously in better condition when I played but people must realise that for such a low price they are never going to be championship standard. Friendly staff and will be back soon.

As a beginner, this course is great for me, with some great challenging holes. The greens have improved a bit from when previous comments had been left, though they are still not the best but for £9-10 a round you cant ask for much more.

This course was on temporary greens for a long time whilst new greens were being put in. I was optomistic that new greens would make this a good pay and play course. But I was wrong. The new greens are shocking. The grass is far too long and they are very bobbly. I had an 8 footer heading for the hole only to hit a bobble and end up a foot to the left. It's a shame that the greens let this course down. For a pay and play it is otherwise ok with some challenging holes for a high handicapper like me. I won't be returning. I woudl rather pay a bit more and go somewhere with decent greens.

Played at Roker Park last week. The greens are in an absolutely shocking state : every one is a brown mixture of dead grass, mud and sand, with not a blade of grass in sight. Shame as the rest of the course was in reasonable condition.

A new greenkeeper was appointed towards the end of 2003 who has markedly improved the condition of the course and particularly the greens which had deteriorated so badly in the summer of 2003

I play this course on a regular basis. It does get a little muddy in the winter, and the greens have suffered from the dry summer. It is however a very well designed and laid out course which can be quite challenging. I have lost countless balls in the lake, which does seem to have magnetic properties. It is superior to many other pay-and-play courses in the area and charges a pretty reasonable green fee. The staff are all friendly and very willing to offer advice on any aspect of the game. It’s no Wentworth, but I would still highly recommend it.

I appreciate the theory of this course is good, and at present the course in general is fine. But the greens are not green they are brown, dead and breaking up, causing no consistency in speed or direction of ball.

DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE DURING THE WINTER OR SPRING IN WET WEATHER UNLESS YOU LIKE MUD. I played this course recently and not only scored high but watched 3no balls disappear on the fairwaY!! The course should not be open, leave to the summer when I am sure to most golfers it will be of interest .
