4 reviews of Renfrew Golf Club

One of the best golf courses i have played. Superb condition and an excellent and fair test of golf. Ideal for an outing with it only 7 mile from Glasgow. Best hole par 4 fourth. Rivers come into play on 4 holes. (Beware of low flying planes.)

Yes it's long but if you do open up your shoulders and try to get a bit further off the tee then stray from the fairway you should still have a good chance of finding your ball - the rough is only penal on a few holes. This is a delightful course to play with mature trees lining most fairways and good sized green protected by large bunkers (though the sand was sparse and hard packed in all the traps I visited). Nice clubhouse (with great value chinese buffet meal served on the day I played their Open - yesterday). Well worth a visit. Relatively flat and lush, get a good day and you'll enjoy your round of golf here.

Renfrew as you will have been told is a long course but that is not true. There are a few holes that will harm your score if you are not careful. You have to be very accurate off the tee here as most fairways are tight and are lined with trees. It is a good course if you are reasonably long off the tee but if you can pitch and putt you will be safe. The greens are pretty tricky all year round and the course is pretty soft due to bad drainage. Thanx.
