10 reviews of Redditch Golf Club

I am a member at Redditch and I would echo what others have said about the greens being of a high standard and the course is a tough challenge. Both lads in the pro shop are a great help and give a good level of service to members and visitors alike. There are some excellent holes (2, 5, 6, 12, 14, 17) but a few very poor ones (1, 10, 18). The course is worth playing if you are a visitor but don't be surprised if you get a frosty welcome from some of the members. Slow play however is the scourge of this club and takes the enjoyment and momentum out of many rounds. To improve this, they could put an end to people playing from the white tees (many are just not good enough) and open the course at 7am instead of 8am in the summer. Best out of an average bunch of courses in the local area.

It looks to me as though some of the previous reviews were written by members rather than more impartial visitors. Car park, clubhouse and changing rooms were all very good. Pro shop poor and a rather frosty reception did not set a good tone. Also lacked that friendly feeling in the bar, especially when a member couldn't wait to tell one of our number to take his shoe bag outside. The course has a poor uphill start, but it did get better especially round the final six holes through the trees where the driver was not the first option. Unfortunately these holes do tend to be wetter. Good par threes and the greens were firm so I would think they are quick in the Summer. Overall rather disappointing and it did not spring onto our must re-visit list.

Played here recently. Ok in the summer, can be very wet in the winter. Bunkers indifferent greens can be good. Better courses locally. Sarcastic bar staff!!

I am a member at Redditch, and I must say its a pleasure. Every hole presents you with a different challenge. The variety is brilliant. With beautiful greens and fairways, this truely is the best golf course around. It also as great facilities, with modern changing rooms and bar area.

Redditch is a beautiful golf course, it is a true challenge, with 18 holes which even i find difficult. I would reccommend this course to anybody with a good consistant game. I have also heard that this club has a very good scratch team. 10/10 for this club. Good work!

redditch golf club is simply a truly amazing golf club.as a junior member i find it a challenge to consistently reel in good scores.it has 9 holes of parkland and 9 holes of woodland presenting 2 par 5s and 2 par 3s over the eighteen holes.the greens are the best in worcestershire.the club houses a pro shop, bar, evening bar room, brilliant locker areas for men and women, driving net, putting green and 2 practise areas and a practise green.visit and play the course for yourself and give me an email with your comment.

i played this course as a visitor playing with a member. i found it an absolute delight to play. with the friendly staff and excellent course the club really is a pleasure. The greens are in excellent condition but can be challenging to read at times. a fantastic day out and i would recomend this course to any golfer with the handicap of 30 or below

What a superb course.Greens are like snooker tables. Fairways are like carpets and tee's are immaculate. The most dissapointing hole is the 1st but every other hole is spot on. 10/10 for everything.

I had what I would describe as the absolute pleasure in playing your course on Friday 6/9/02. The greens were quite simply the best I have played this year and probably the last couple of years.I would like to forward my compliments to the greenstaff who have presented the course in tremendous condition. I cannot remember ever playing greens which were so consistent from start to finish, considering these greens have been reconstructed in the last few years I would encourage the members to realise what a truly fantastic job carried out by what I understand to be their own internal staff.Keep up the good work. Finally what a meal!Val and her team at the dinner later in the evening were good humoured and courteous ,the roast beef was excellent,if a way to a mans heart is through his stomach then Val must have direct access good enough to be able to do open heart surgery. Thank you very much for a faboulous day. Danny Blair Stratford On Avon GC
