2 reviews of Reay Golf Club
Wow! I just fell upon this site and it brought back great memories\r\nof Reay Golf Club. Back in 1976 I learned how to play golf on this\r\ncourse and eventually became a member. Playing golf at Reay and the\r\nother two (Thurso/Wick) was a great experience I'll never forget. Reay\r\nis quite a test with her small greens, "high" rough, and lets not \r\nforget about the wind. The people were warm and very friendly to this\r\n"Yank" and I'll always have fond memories of my experiences there. I\r\nhighly recommend if anyone has the opportunity to play Reay Golf Course,\r\nDO IT! It'll leave a lasting impression.\r\n\r\n
While Reay is somewhat off many tourists' normal travel route if you are venturesome and want to see the real Highlands this is an unexpected bonus. The local members were particularly warm and accomodating. While my wife doesn't play she was encouraged to walk along with me by the local members. The two young men/boys I played with provided my wife and I with pleasurable company and an insight into life in the area.\r\n\r\nThe course was well maintained, easy to walk, a good test of golf, and scenic - it is along the coastline. \r\n\r\nIf your travels take you to the north of Scotland I would recommend you take the time to enjoy a round of golf at Reay - and by-the-way you might ask if Michael & Stuart are looking for a game.
