Played in August 2011,lovely course with some interseting holes, lots of club selection decisions. Greens in excelent condition and fast. All staff very pleasant and helpful.
On entering the car park you may understandly think you have mistakenly entered a farmyard rather than a golf club as all the club facilities are converted barns and cowsheds.
Don't be put this is a well maintained parkland course that will provide you with a pleasant round of golf.
The front nine is a bit bland with nothing too taxing, though the ditches on the 1st and 9th are an intimidatingly awkward distance off the tee for average handicappers.
The back nine is more undulating and interesting. The 12th in particular is surprisingly stroke index 17, but has 3 enormous oak trees across the middle of the fairway and a pond in front of the green. The par 3 17th offers a ditch in front, bunker to left, pond behind and OOB to the right, but also magnificent views of Raglan Castle with the sugar loaf and Brecon Beacons beyond.
A very good course, played it in July and it was in good condition even after all the rain. A course made for societies, good value for money and has some holes that tested even our low handicap players.
Played the Raglan after two other courses earlier in the week. It was undoubtedly the best all-rounder of the three at that time. The greens had wintered well with only 1 temporary in use. The course was a challenge with lots of variations and interest. The pro was extremely helpful and friendly. Great value for money!
I played Raglan over a week ago (16th June) its was a scorhing day. I was overwhelmed that this coarse was in the condition it was. It was and friendly with the front nine straight being forward but lengthy. The back nine was great with lots of decisions to be made from a variety of obstacles from dog legs, ditches ponds and driving over tress. I'll be back
I played at Raglan Parc on a Saturday in May and was pleasantly surprised with the quality and layout. The course was in excellent condition with the greens receptive and very consistent and the general quality of the grass very good. The front nine is fairly simple but never boring but the course really comes alive on the back nine with interesting layouts and a variety of hazards to keep you on your toes. It costs £26 at the weekend which is reasonable value. Try it, you will not be disappointed.
