Great course in very good condition, beautifull views from the elevated tee boxes of Magherawarden bay and Knockalla mountains in the background. first nine very difficult, the second hole is one of the best I have played, if you par this hole , you are on your game. Very Friendly staff and very cheap for green fees. Well worth a visit , way ahead of some of the better known courses in the area.

very good course set in an area of natural stunning beauty.front nine is alot harder than the back nine.if you do not have a local guide you will amass a large score due to hidden dangers.i do not understand why this course is not better advertised compared to its peers in the same region as it is better than some of them.maybe its because one of its members feels the need to administer lectures to visitors about their pace of play when they themselves are playing with members who should be the first port of call for any complaint(this 'ambassador' of the club was in a four ball 0908 28.6.09)apart from that the staff were helpful and welcoming.

Played in May 2007. Beautiful course with stunning views of the bay, the beach, and mountains beyond. Played long and tough in the wind. Very nice welcome in the club house and excellent food served.

A remote but beautiful setting. The front nine are easily the hardest I've ever played and quite where they get the SSS of 68 from is a mystery. You need to be long and straight. Look out for "The Valley" and the par 3 "Kerr's" if the wind is in the wrong direction. The inland back nine are much gentler but are welcome relief after the distress of the opening holes.

i played portsalon fri 28 may & was delighted with the challenge put to me.i normally play at the royal county down course & find it hard to find a course that can match it for beauty & skill, but this was close.
