We played this course on 9th June 2014 on a lovely sunny and warm day. The club doesn't pretend to be anything it isn't and is welcoming and homely (rather than grand and 'stuffy'). The facilities are fine, with snacks being served in the clubhouse (which appears to be in the process of being extended). We didn't try the driving range - but there is one there, as well as a practise putting green. There is also a nice touch with a fenced off area to clean clubs and equipment after the round. The course is modest in length, but nontheless is an interesting challenge. With constant changes in elevation and with undulating greens, it isn't a cinch to score well here on the first visit. The bunkers were a little disappointing as most had pools of water in them, but this was probably due to the recent heavy rain (rather than a ongoing problem). There is little deep rough to concern the more wayward golfer, although the rough there is penalises a player well. Further left or right does bring more heavy foilage into play. It is a neat, tidy and well kept course and there is much to recommend it to others. Don't be swayed by the length of 5800-6000 yards because, as I say, that isn't the full story. The stand out hole - in my opinion - is the par 4 13th which has bunkers placed down the left and swings around to these to a green well over 400 yards away. Both picturesque and challenging.

played this course while on holiday in august 08. some very long holes including a 600 yard par 5 and 2 450 yard par 4s. my handicap is 20 and i started with a 4 on the first thinking it just maybe my day to shoot a score in the mid 80s-it wasnt. some well designed holes including three or four where water will certainly come into play. but certainly a course for the long hitter. the fairways are reasonably wide so people can "have a go" and as long as they are not too wayward then the punishment wont be too bad the last two hired a half set of clubs which were in decent nick and they even had a selection of junior sets for hire which my then 9 year old son used. it was £40 for adult and junior including the hire of clubs. for a friday round starting at 1030. even then the course was quiet didnt play the par 3 landkey course so cant comment on it. the catering afterwards was ok. bar snacks as i remember. there isnt a club shop as such although they do sell balls tees etc we played this course because even though we were staying right next to saunton golf club-im no where near good enough to tackle that course and more importantly enjoy it enjoyed the day but if im back in the area on holiday will probably try somewhere else, after all there is plenty of choice
