I highly recommend this course ,excellent welcome ,fantastic facilities ,and for some one with a bad back ,a good course, flat and long. Members were very friendly course was relatively easy as long as you stuck to the fairway.

Played today half price using an Openfairways card. The clubhouse renovations are nothing short of sensational - they really have a fabulous lounge and locker rooms, and the clubmaster on the door was very friendly and welcoming - pity the course is as dull as dishwater. Very bland, largely flat and unappealing through probably suited to the mainly middle aged to elderly members we saw out on the course (I have never seen so many people on the course at the one time wearing plus fours - is it some sort of unofficial regalia at Pollok?). James McCann, Glasgow.

(Think the previous message was sent pre-maturely) - I wanted to say that I have found the club to be friendly. A recently - July 2002 - completed refurbishment and extension project has substantially improved the clubhouse facilities.

I have played Pollok Golf Club on a few occasions and although it is a very traditional club it is also very pleasent and welcoming. The course is of fair length around 6350yds,but when the club hosts the Glasgow Amatuer it is off the very back tees and is closer to 6450yds it is a very pleasent layout with no hills except the last. The rough is very punishing and the greens are alwaysrunning very true if only the greens could be cut a little more often.

Nice layout on a fairly flattish piece of land. Some majestic trees lining the fairways which always granted an inviting lie. Warm welcome and great catering. A very traditional Gentleman's Club. Only down side was the somewhat antiquated dress rule. I enjoyed 2 rounds in the day but couldn't get any lunch without having to change back into a jacket and tie. You're also obliged to arrive and leave the club wearing a jacket and tie would you believe!
