Plassey Golf Club

Plassey Golf Club, Wrexham, North Wales, Wales, LL13 0SP

3 reviews of Plassey Golf Club

One of the best 9 hole golf course's in North Wales offering superb facilities and in all round excellent condition. Location is just outside Wrexham at Eyton near to Bangor on Dee and is very rural and relaxing. Course layout is challenging for both the new golfer and the more experienced player. Greens are fantastic. Everyone in our group were very well impressed, clubhouse (not the largest) but very friendly and offered some great home cooked food and refreshments. They call it Wrexham's Secret Golf Club and we can see why. Highly recommended

I have played this course a number of times over the last three years and each time find it really great. Set in wonderful countryside with natural habitat, this is a challenging course which needs a bit more thought than other courses I usually play. A traditional 9 hole course, with the 2nd 9 holes playing off different tee’s. The tees and fairways are very well maintained and the greens are well placed; some protected by bunkers others more openly designed for a more substantial second hit. Once on the greens you will find them in great condition. I have managed to play with a few of their members and find Plassey Golf Club very relaxing with a great friendly atmosphere. Clubhouse offers a good range of food and drink at good prices. If I lived a bit nearer I would consider membership which is only about £300 per year which is well below the average. In addition to the course and clubhouse they have their own Driving Range and smaller Par 3 Course. Green fees about £9 for 9 holes or £16 for 18 holes. Offers great value for a course in such great condition.

The course is a proprietry course and the present leaseholder is Simon Ward an ex tour professional who has taken over since the 1st April on a long lease. He has come with new ideas and welcomes contact from societies and corporate membership enquiries. Visiting caravanners to the Plassey Golf Complex may have reduced weekly rates and all visiting golfers are welcome to enter club competitions. The course will be having extensive work done on the drainage and will be maintaned to a high standard.
