Played on a Friday afternoon for 2 for 1. Paid £10.00 each. Good value. Ok. Lets get the moans out the way. Fairways need more drainage as wet almost everywhere and more signs needed. The direction of the 3rd tee from the 2nd green was a guess. Also, when saying, "Pay in clubhouse when pro shop closed", might want to say where to find the door to the club house. Ok moans done. Greens great, considering the fairways were soaked, the greens were in good condition with no puddles anywhere. Course not a great challenge but still some good holes. The 11th a good challenge. Clubhouse and facilities nice and people welcoming. Considering cost, would return in the summer when drier

Played it today after a weeks worth of rain had fallen on it, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that there were few, if any, waterlogged patches on the course. I had expected one or two after previous comments. The course is very open and the back 9 is certainly better than the front, but overall there are few memorable holes to make you want to rush back. I liked the 12th hole, which is a dogleg right par 4 where you play your tee shot up a hill to the fairway, and the par 3 16th is quite a nice hole too, but generally the look of the rest of the holes are pretty much similar to each other. That isn't to say that this isn't a course that's worth playing, as the fairways and greens were all in very good condition. I didn't really use the clubhouse and so can't really comment on that.

Best played in the summer months. Pike Fold is a good 18 holes of golf across a largely flattish landscape, broken up by half a dozen lakes and ponds. The greens are excellent quality, though like so many golf clubs these days played by players who see unaware of the need to repair a pitch mark. Its a course for the big hitter, with few trees to catch a less than perfect drive and the chance to get home in two on the Par 5's. With the open landscape it almost has a Links feel about it on a summers day. On the downside the course, being flat, does hold water after rain making it a bit squelchy. Further, each time I play there does seem to be more ducks than ever on the course which might suit the birdwatchers, but for the golfer means treading very carefully on a number of holes and scraping duck c*** off your ball is a not the highlight of a round for me. The Clubhouse, overlooking the 18th green, is excellent, providing majestic views across the course and first class comfort and hospitality. Friendly staff serve good food and drink at reasonable prices.

What a cracking course. The greens are amazing. Even after the bleakest of winters they are in beautiful condition. The course is interseting and challenging with a selection of teeing areas for a full 18 holes. The second/eleventh is a cracker from both tees making them a challenging par 3/4 respectively. Well worth a visit but make sure you get clear instructions on how to get there. Once you've found it though you are sure to like it.

Without doubt the best 9 hole course I've ever seen and I've been playing for 15 years. Admittedly it was 2003 when I last saw it, but assuming it has been well maintained then it is well worth a go. The only negative aspect I can think of is that it is a bit tricky to find if you don't know the area, but ask for directions and you'll be glad you did.

Its a fabulous course, don't let the 9 holes put you off. Has lots of challenging holes, and plenty of water. The greens were fantastic! The club house is very new, but designed to keep the feel of an old country house. The facilities are excellent, and the catering I definately recommend. Nice bar, widescreen tele and snooker table to help tackle the 19th hole. All in all a great course, once matured one of the best.
