A friendly invitation to a members & non members texas scramble was my first impression after my initial phone call. A beautiful setting with mostly open fairways, hilly and interesting holes, not at all what we expected. When we thought it was getting easier it got harder. The greens were not great, but told they were about to have a makeover, but all in all very enjoyable and a true test.Good value for £20 at weekend, but advertised at £25!There is work to be done but great potential. We will be back.

I played Petworth over the weekend and found it to be much improved since I played it last summer. Then it was totally boggy and obviously no time or money had been spent on it for some time. I understand it has now been taken over. There are are some decent holes some of which are quite long with others being very hilly. The fairways are quite wide and in good condition. I managed to lose a few balls in the rough as it is pretty thick. They are very few bunkers but it is a good practice course and because it is so hilly in parts good exercise as well! There were a fair number of people on the course and it seems to be getting quite popular.

As previous post said - good holes but needs a bit of work. Cheap and cheerful definately. Never busy which is the main reason we keep on going there. Good mix of holes. Good place to go as a learner where there are no pretentions. Lager is very cold too.

Excellent patch of land, some very nice holes, but disappointingly there were a couple of faults in the design and the course is in desperately poor condition. But with a bit more money input, the course could be lovely. It has potential and if you can put up with the terrible condition, it might be worth a round or two at very cheap prices. I would be interested to see what others have to say!
