5 reviews of Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club

Played this course at the begining of the season and was very impressed. The course layout is challenging to say the least with a number of tricky blind holes. Lovely course presentation with the greens and fairways in immaculate condition. Being on holiday and after playing three other local courses this one is the best by far. Well priced green fees, nice club house and again a fantasic course. One that should be played!!!

A nice enough course with very friendly and helpful staff. The course itslef is let down by the fact that there are too many blind tee shots the worst being the 15 (16th?) which is a 200+yard par three over a high hill. A nice course but not a classic by any manner of means. I would rate it a 7/10

Wonderful course with very friendly members.
Classical moorland layout with some challenging blind holes. Most greens immaculate except for the 7th, problems with the contractor I hear.
Worth a visit if in the area.

Old Course, Ranfurly. There are two golf courses in Bridge of Weir: Old Course, Ranfurly and the newer Ranfurly Castle. The comment at the end of the OC page seems to be confused.I played both courses when I visited Scotland: 'Old Ranfurly', as the locals refer to it, is most definitely the better experience. Heathland, heather, gorse, blind holes galore. Quite beautiful. Golf as it's supposed to be played.Ranfurly Castle is an easier course, with lusher fairways and greens that hold much easier. However, the greens were of questionable state when I played in late summer (very uneven).

We are starting a web site and we are one of the best inland courses in Scotland - see Golf Monthly's review and ask anyone who has played it. David Cunningham Match & Handicap Secretary Ranfurly Castle Golf Club As per my previous message, I would like to have our course represented in your guide. It is RANFURLY CASTLE GOLF CLUB, in Bridge of Weir. It is one of the finest moorland courses in Scotland, and generally agreed to be the best course in Renfrewshire.
