This course was a great surprise to me, just goes to show a course doesn’t need to b long. I was visiting my friend who joined recently & offered me a game at his club. When we arrived we waited for the competition to go on by that we knew was playing that morning while we warmed up, the weather wasn't too promising but warm. Standing on the 1st tee I'm looking at a slight dogleg, which goes uphill. Me being a flat course player was a little worried about length now. No need to worry off the tee just a climb to reach the green. Overall I like the course especially he 3rd hole that you go back down the hill that you just climbed (birdied that on so really liked it). Hole 5 that one really hurt the calves as it is the hardest climb on the course not long as less than 300 yards off the yellows but still a long way up. The fairways and greens were excellent and the greens nice and true. My only complaints about the round was how poorly I played the par threes and the showers that came occasionally during the round The views you get from the high points on the course over the valleys are outstanding. The best shot of my round was my Tee shot on the daunting 18th just hoping to hit the fairway, which is a long way down. I can't comment about the clubhouse facilities as we had my friends 4-year-old son with us so we headed straight home, as he was very wet & tired , I’ll play this course again when I am next around Cardiff just hope the rain stays away.

The course is not long but no two holes are the same which provided a good test for my mid handicp game.Fairways were in excellent condition even after a recent dry spell. Greens were reasonably flat and are protected by well placed bunkers some of which are deep!! Even though the course is on the side of a valley there is only one hole which is directly uphill so the walk wasn't too arduous. Views were spetacular particularly from the 18th tee which is a testing par 5 finishing hole. Food in the club was good and reasonably priced and our party was made very welcome. Ian. S.

A definite thumbs up. Lush fairways and generally good greens. Nice layout if a little short (beware a couple of holes play long going up the hill!) The Welsh valleys can be quite pretty with mining and heavy industry gone and the views of the surrounding area and distant Brecon Beacons are a major plus. Note the hilly location is also potentially windy. The people are friendly by default.
