10 reviews of Mile End Golf Club
Played our society day here recently on a very windy day. Not the quality of neighbouring Oswestry, but more friendly. The course starts with 4 holes 'over the road'. These are probably the least interesting holes on the course so don't panic!
As the course moves to the second 9, the holes seem to increase in interest a lot with some good and quite long holes. The 17th a downhill par three is fantastic and with highly magnetic water!
The course condition has improved a lot over the years it still being relatively young.
There's a new two tier range, a nice club house, and one of the best golf shops in the area.
What a great golf facility. Everyone is so friendly (which suits a beginner like me!) and the course was in great condition for this time of year. At only £13 for 18 holes in the Winter it is great value. Had good lunch in the Clubhouse as well. They have just opened a new driving range which seems really good although i did not go on it myself. 5 stars all round.
wow,i played here on sunday 3 of february 08,the course was in great condition ,the greens were superb ,the staff friendly ,i am from solihull warwickshire and i cant wait to play again only next time it will be in the summer ,£15 what a bargain compared to other courses as arnie would say I SHALL BE BACK....
was a member here last year but joined oswestry, the course is normally in great condition with some challenging holes, the par 3 third short but played over water, they have done a lot of drainage work over the last couple of years so it doesn't get so wet now. The greens are in great condition and the fairways will run.
As a member of an established local society we have been minded not to play this course due to the fact that it is quite new, and thought it may still be quite under-developed. However, we arrived for our outing during April 2004 and thoroughly enjoyed our day. The course was in great condition for such an early time in the season, and it belied it's tender years. The hospitality and catering were both excellent and Mile End is now firmly on our society rota of courses to play. Great value on 2F1 !

Played this course on Friday 20th September 2002. Very nice course in very good condition. Greens and fairways excellent. Very friendly welcome in clubhouse and shop. I look forward to returning again soon. Would not hesitate for a second to recommend to anyone. Well worth £15
Played Mile End on 01/09/02 on a society day. Course was in 1st class condition & weather was brilliant. We were able to use our 2-fore-1 vouchers so this was excellent value. Staff in the shop were very helpful & there was a large selection of used & new clubs in stock at good prices.
I will be returning there again next year & would recommend Mile End to anyone.
Course playing very well indeed. Greens now in top condition. Wet areas noticed last summer have been subjected to intesive drainage works in spring and summer 2000 and benefits can be expected this winter/spring. Well worth a visit if you're in the Shropshire area which is one of the most scenic counties in UK..
