littlehill is one of those courses that has something for everyone .there are some good holes on this course which was once a qualifying course for the open and can also boast sandy lyles uncle as being a past professional.although this course is now underfunded and sometimes plagued by local vandals attacking the greens .(as if they can hit back).but they certainly hurt the golfer.this course starts of as a parkland course but by the 3rd hole depending on the wind and because of the run of the land the course can seem like a links course.the 5th to the 8th seems like a parkland course with easily acheivable birdies till hitting back over the fenced off lane up the hill to the par 3 9th green where the wind starts to play with not only your tee shot but your emotions .then its onwards and upwards to the 10th green where the wind can play havoc depending on direction until the 17th where a fence on the left hand side runs the length of its 477 yards over this and your out of bounds ,then your back uphill towards the club house .the pro shop is now closed as are the catering facilities .there are shops next to the course that sell all that you require for getting you around you round .the cost of a round is £10.30 in summer £9.30 winter .juvenile £5.15summer .£4.65 winter .half price both summer and winter 90 minutes before the course closes.phone no.is 0141 772 1916.although this course has been hit by cutbacks the staff and locals always give you a warm welcome and will always help anyway they can.most people who play golf in north glasgow started off playing this course and not many have anything but good to say about it .if your in the area give it a try you could do a lot worse
Great little course a few challenging holes. Well kept for a council run course, friendly atmosphere from the locals and a very helpfull assistant at the desk a big thumbs up...
Played today. Beautiful day in October. Everyone was dead friendly. Sure there were loads of Neds on the course, but they were BRILLIANT golfers and if you don't mind the occasional bottle of Tenants or Buckfast on the Tee, then you're in for a great game of golf.
Also, for £7.50, it's so much more fun than those snobby, private clubs where you get told to tuck your shirt in.
The course is well kept and great for beginner to intermediate players.
Totally enjoyed myself and no one nicked my balls (more's the pity!)
Quite difficult to find if you're not local so take a map.
The guy on the desk is also one of the friendlies people in any golf club in the world.
A lot of improvements have been made to the course. Money has at last been spent on keeping the local kids out of the course. If you haven't played it recently then give it a try
This is one of the most challenging courses in the North of Glasgow
Not a bad course ruined by kids from surrounding area pinching balls from fairways and allowing dogs to roam (I had a ball eaten by one last time I played). Much better course nearby.
If you want to play a good round of golf don't go to Littlehill. The fairways are more like rough and the greens are like fairways. I was charged £7.00 and it is lucky if it was worth £1.50.
