A very good, well looked after and challenging course with plenty of big bunkers. Set up well for members rather than corporate golf which is fine with me. Can find no fault with the course, club house or food. It certainly deserves its place in the Top 100 and should be on your list of places to visit.

I play this course once a year and it is real treat. Not only does it drain fantastically but it is always presented in great condition. In June i played it with 23 others and despite the awful weather we managed to complete the round. We based ourselves at the Belfry which was closed due to the weather and the secretary at Little Aston phoned round local clubs securing us Tee Times as needed.. a great help when on a tour. You can't fault it.PLAY!

Eleven handicapper - played Little Aston in July 2006. Excellent. I would rank this as the best inland course I have played. Very mature trees define the shapes of holes. Gently rolling valleys and doglegs are enhanced by, well positioned and well kept, bunkers. Greens were first class - a beautiful course. Mature, thoughtful design which is also pleasing on the eye. The course was deserted when we played but the pro and other people we met around the clubhouse were very friendly towards us. Jacket and tie in the main bar (we opted out). Great value for money at £65.

Englands answer to Augusta. Set in the Beverly Hills of Birmingham, Little Aston golf club offers a dream round of Golf. A perfect test of golf for the low to mid-range handicappers, bunkers are strategically placed on every hole and manicured to quality of poirot's tash. You can expect the greens to be fantastic around july and August. A tree lined, woodland course, this has to be the jewel in the crown.

'The Jewel in the Crown' Little aston is set in what can only described as Beverly Hills area of Birmingham. The course sits within a housing estate making homes for the rich and famous. The clubhouse oozes an aptmosphere of Gentlemenly drinking and cigar smoking. The dining experience is adequate for a days golf. The course, Enalnds answer to Augusta National, when I've played it anyway. If you have payed big money to play championship courses, at £60 for a day, Little Aston is a snip. The 18 tree lined holes were established in 1908 so the woodland is mature and great for defining the holes. The bunkers are well positioned and trimmed to be kept as well as poirots tash. The greens are of a very high standard and round off the cousres quality. The quality of presentation of the greens is exceptional. All in all Little Aston offers a great days golf. Ideal for the low to mid handicapper.

This is an exclusive and traditional club and the green fees and clubhouse set up reflect that. Therefore you get what you pay for, namely an excellent course which will test all abilities, greens of superb quality, plenty of bunkers to test that aspect of your game and its set amidst a tranquil wooded course (hard to believe its in Birmingham)! The course has electronic car park gates for added security and a good quality clubhouse. There is nothing wrong with having to wear a jacket and tie in there at all.. some of its members are ex profesional footballers.

Nice club house and the course is a good layout in nice location. However, the condition of the course was not good. Played days after the greens had been hollow tyned and they were awful. Essential work, but we were not warned, and it is a bit of a cheak to charge the full green fee of £50. Furthermore, the bunkers were full of club-damaging stones. Left extremely disapointed, particularly after reading that it was supposingly one of the best in Birmingham. I have played some public courses in the area which were in better condition.

First and foremost, Little Aston is an excellent golf course. Largely tree lined with changes in elevation, a couple of water hazards and excellent greens. All 18 holes are a good test, with a good mix of par 3's, par 4's and par 5's. However, Little Aston is very much a traditional member's golf club, and its attitudes reflect this. Jacket and ties must be worn at all times in the main bar and dining room. The only alternative being a small, separate bar area where hot food cannot be served.
