10 reviews of Killarney Golf and Fishing Club

I had the privelage of playing the Killeen course in June 2008,The welcome in the clubhouse was fantastic I was originally booked in to play the cheaper Lackabane but was offered a chance to play the Kileen course for £40.00 euros as a twilight rate on a staurday night! I had the course to myself and I felt like a million dollars, very similar feel to Loch Lomond except this one you can get to play it. Inspiring setting, jaw dropping holes along the lake and very playable even for a an 18 handicapper. Will defintely return with a gang of mates. One of the best golf experiences I have ever had. Thank you Killarney golf course!

Had a great time - played Lackabane and mahony's point in April 06 - had 40 points off 17 in Lackabane and didn't putt well. Mahony's was a bit tougher, i thought, and could only manage 37 points. Some great risk/reward shots. I'll be back in May!

Both the Killeen and Mahoneys Point courses are excellent and very playable. The scenery is amazing and the welcome in the clubhouse is second to none as is the quality of food and drink served. Both courses are "must plays" - once you've played them you'll always want to go back. Superb.

I played Killeen course in Sept 2003. It is a beatiful course, good quality overall but I'm a true linksgolfer.... so I prefer another game but Killeen course is well worth playing and Killarney Golf and Fisihing Club is well wort a visit if You are in the area.

Courses played : Lackabane (08/08/03), Killeen (11/08/03). Great location, very good courses. You may have read my other reports from this area, if so the same applies. Wonderful views and scenery and the courses do not fail. Lackabane is a golfers course, it's tough and long. Demands good shots and a steady putting stroke as the greens are BIG and quick. A really enjoyable round. Killen is differnet, a parkland course that also incorporates the Lough Leane, this is also long but offers a differnet challenge. More trees and more accuracy. A true test. A great location. Surpassed my expectations.

Just a wonderful place to play golf. Scenery matches Gleneagles and the hospitality is great. Played the Killeen course - great first few holes along the lake shore. Not a bad hole on the course and in fantastic condition (we played it after a few weeks of typical Irish weather). A must for anyone in the area.

My wife, Susan, and I have played both Killeen (twice)and Mahoney's Point. Both are great courses and it is hard to choose between them. Killeen is marginally more difficult but they both have breathtaking views. Killarney Golf and Fishing Club is one of the most welcoming clubs we have ever been to. It stands out even in Ireland, where all clubs are welcoming. The courses are brilliant, the food & drink first class, the caddies amongst the best anywhere and the ambience fantastic. This club is a must for any serious golfer in this part of the World.

Played O'Mahoney's Point course at Killarney in May of '98...unfortunate to catch it on a very rainy day and unluckier still to be paired up with a couple of snobs from my own state of Massachusetts. The course was in good condition, but was not particularly challenging or memorable until the last three holes. #16 was a gem of a downhill par-5 rolling gently toward the lake with the mist-shrouded mountains as a backdrop; #17 was a terrific dogleg right par 4 hugging the shoreline; and #18 was one of the prettiest and best deigned par-3's I have encountered....flowers, trees, the lake, bunkers, hedges; just beautiful! I plan to return this fall to play the Killeen 18, which, I believe, is rated more favorably.

I PLAYED THIS COURSE ON MY FIRST TRIP TO IRELAND. THE COURSE WAS EXCELLENT, THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY, COURTEOUS AND MOST HELPFUL, AND THE ENTIRE EXPERIENCE WAS SOMETHING TO TREASURE FOR YEARS TO COME. \r\n\r\nTHE ONLY DRAWBACK WAS TRYING TO CONCENTRATE ON MY GAME WHILE BEING AWESTRUCK BY THE UNBELIEVABEL SCENARY, ESPECIALLY THE VIEW OF KILLARNEY LAKE.
