Difficult course, well designed, with some very tight fairways with lots of trees, plenty of water in & around the greens. No bunkers. Only disappointment was the quality of the greens which are in need of attention.

A fantastic welcome from the staff and the food was very good. On the golf front, a tight, tricky course. Greens are small and were rock hard which made it near on impossible to pitch and stay on the green, thank god for the banks at the back. Would be good to see some real bunkers but all in all def worth the green fee. Thank you very much, I will be back.

Absolutely fantasic course, a lot more entertaining than the woodhall spa i play before hand., the course was green unlike other surrounding clubs, and the water posed a great challenge, very well kept, will definately be back year after year. if only all golf club could be like this! Clubhouse facilities are great, shower rooms, bars and resturants. 5 stars in my opinion! jeff handson

A challenging course; with water in play on a high number of holes. it seems like most of the early greens are guarded by water so running it up to the green is not an option; a challenge to anyones short game. I have yet to get the wedge out for the sand; as there isn't any! The course and club are under new management and they have big plans, the course deserves all the plans to be fulfilled as it is a lovely course and just needs the facilities to come up to scratch to make this a wonderful golf club,

First time on this one. A well layed out course, but still know sand in the bunkers. Looks like a good club house when finished. Could do with a little map of the course as a number of greens are blind from the tees. The water infront of the most greens is tricky but alround a good course. Will be coming back in the summer to play.

this course now has new owners who have spent a lot of money on improving it. it is now excellently maintained and v.quiet! greens excellent but no sand in bunkers but still difficulty due to ponds on most holes. plenty off long holes to give driver good old whack too! green fees £10.00 £7.50 junior so worth a try as its a bargain

Horncastle is a very attractive course with a different challenge on every hole.It has excellent facilities but is poorly maintained with long rough, concrete like greens and no sand in the bunkers. With a bit of hard work and with the course maturing all the time it has the potential to be an excellent course.
