Well, what a surprise! The club house, shop and kitchen are very well run, clean with a great breakfast choice, thanks. The staff were all very cheerful and happy to help. The general condition of the course is testimony to great green keepers; I have played on expensive private courses that were much worse than this lovely course. Greens were a little slow, but this is being picky as they were, otherwise in brilliant nick. Playing here is a joy, not too long or too easy - keep it straight off the tee and you have an enjoyable round of golf, stray from the fairway and you will be reaching into your bag for another ball.. I would recommend the course to anyone. Thanks for a great experience.

Having read some reviews we were expecting the worst before arriving at Hatchford Brook, but we found the exact opposite for our experience and I felt I had to write this as Im sure a lot of people are put off because of it. The course was nice and clean, no dog foul, no chavs, no rubbish etc. It actually looked very nice in places and in the summer when the trees are green it would be much better. The only complaint we had was that the bunkers were a bit rough in places but hopefully you wont be spending too much time in those! We thoroughly enjoyed our game there.

Played here today and was quite impressed with the place. The holes were generally friendly with a fair bit of room to be wayward, but with most of them being tree-lined you couldn't afford to hook your tee shot (like I did on too many occasions today!!). The greens were in decent condition, although they maybe needed a cut to speed them up a little. The fairways were okay but nothing special. The numerous bunkers were my main bone of contention as there were no rakes to be seen anywhere, so it was in the lap of the Gods as to whether you got a favourable lie or not. As mentioned in earlier reviews there are a fair number of longish par 4. In additionto those, I didn't think it was fair that there were two par 5's that were downgraded to par 4's from the yellows, especially as they were about 450 yards long. If that's a par 4 then perhaps I need to take up darts, because while I may not be any good I can at least generally reach the board! Those gripes aside, this is a an excellent course for the green fee paid (£15 midweek)

I write this in response to a few comments that have been made about this course, having said that, I am a member at this course and my views may appear to be a little biased. This is great little course with nice open fairways and it has to be said (since we had a new green keeper) the greens are fantastic, a true pleasure to putt on. Some people would say that the course doesn't offer much of a challenge but I would disagree. There are some long Par 4's and a few tricky par 3's that never seem the same in terms of club selection, it's the same with the Par 5's. Quite a challenge in the winter months as the leaves fall from the trees, you need to keep in on the fairway so as you don't lose it in the rough, especially on the 12th. You occasionally get a few hackers but generally the play is good. The pro shop is well stocked and the staff are very friendly. The bar offers a very good selection of food with superb quality, the sausage and tom on toast is fantastic... wish I could same the same for my golf... Myself and my friend have been members here for two years now and will continue to be for many years to come. It's one of the best muni courses in the Midlands in my opinion.

on first impresions it was a very well presented club freindly staff well signed areas and a well stocked shop. all the tees were in very good condition the fairways on most holes were good but others need attention. all that is left to add is the greens, i am sorry to say they let the rest of the course down, i dont play much but when i do i expect to be able to put without the ball jumping off the green and losing shots ,if a little time and care was taken on the greens it would have a lot more people playing this course . i will be playing here again.

played here on 2/9/06. Hatchford brook is a very well designed golf course that sits next to birmingham airport almost on the runway!!! but dont let this put you off, the noise from the aircraft is not as bad as some make out. There is a very good mix of long and short par 4s. the par 3s are well designed, the 17th plays a lot longer into the wind, when we played the average score was 6!! The condition of the course was very good overall, the fairways where well drained and dry even after 7 days of constant rain. the greens could have done with a trim but they still ran true and fairly fast, although they where responsive to aproach shots. The bunkers however are a complete desgrace. no rakes and no sand. each bunker was mainly mud and stones and realy let this otherwise great course down. off course there is a well stocked pro-shop,good clean toilets and changing rooms rooms and a friendly comfortable non-smoking club house that over looks the first tee ,18th green and the putting green. i would play here a lot more if it wasnt for the bunkers. still great value at £13 a round weekends. give it a try.

Hatchford Brook another name for Birmingham international Airport Golf Club. The best thing about this place is the modern club house. The course as a test is average. The rough, in some places is just well Rough, greens are mixed some good, some bumpy and not so good. To my mind it not really worth the effort unless of course you want to get a round in before you fly off to La Manga, talk about flight path! I think landing strip is more accurate.

having played this course at least once a week for the past 12 months i am pleased to say that it has fulfilled all my expectations.it is a really good test of a golfers ability and i feel it is maybe the best municipal course in birmingham.the fairways are exceptional(even in the winter months),and the greens are fair.having hit a hole in one on the par 3 13th recently i maybe a bit biased, but please give this course the respect it deserves.

I have played the course many times in the last 3 months and every time it has been in very good condition from tee to green. If it was a bit closer to my home i would definitely me a member. Rating 8 out of 10.

An excellent course with superb amenities, reminds me of my first world war commision in Africa - The sand bunkers are a nightmare! The grounds men do a creditable job to keep the greens in good order. I recomend this course to all my ex - servicemen friends! Also I can feed my passion for aviation with the daily flight of emirates airbus A330 and Boeing 777.

Hatchford Brook is a fairly nice municiple golf course. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, nice fairways, greens are a little flat and in certain places quite untrue, the bunkers are improving as more sand is added, although there are far too many stones in them!! And why bother having a bar that closes at 6pm latest, and doesn't even have sky to watch the golf on!!

First time I've been since the refurb, very nice. Fairways in good order but greens are a bit bumpy, but that apart it was an enjoyable round with some challenging holes.

I play on this course regularly and since the refurbishment, I would say it is the best course in the W/Midlands. Canteen facilities are excellent, with friendly staff and good food, and a lovely new Club house. I agree that the 16" green should be a Par 5 Thank you Mr J,E,YEOMANS

I thought the course was very well laid out, but plays quite hard due to the heavy rough, which starts off heavy and goes to unplayable , although the the course is well kept. With a variety of par 4's the course is also taxing

I live about one minute from the course and I played there very regularly indeed, but ow I`m at university I cannot play as regularly. This course, in my opinion is one of \r\nthe best Municipal Courses in Birmingham and I have played every one\r\nexcept Pype Hayes. It is kept in excellent condition (except now and again \r\nthe 3rd green has motorbike skid marks on it) and I thouroughly enjoy playing here regularly with friends\r\n(the pro knows who we are ....Dicky and co.)\r\nI would however like to give an opinion: the 16th hole, and many people agree with me, should be a \r\npar 5. It is a good hole, but it is slightly too long to be a par 4.\r\nSecondly, the stroke index for the fourth is wrong, as well as the 6th (stroke index 1?!?!)\r\nAnyway, I would like to know what the renovations are to the course as I drove past last week and it is all dug up? What`s\r\nhappening please?
