Good course and a club with a nice community feel. Played on a sunny April morning and after a bit of confusion with the guy in the pro shop as to whether we should start on the 1st or 10th, we got underway. A note for visitors; green fees are cash or cheque only. The course has a nice layout and feel to it. Holes are enough to keep you interested and thinking about your golf shots but there wasn't really any holes that really stood out and had a 'wow!' factor. The one thing that me and my playing partners agreed defined this course was the changes in elevation. Be prepared to be going up, going down, playing off uphill lies and playing off hanging lies. It makes for a truly exhausting round and probably guarantees that all members are super fit! Course condition was generally good. Greens were not at their best and could have done with a good cut, as they were somewhat furry when we played. May just be down to timing of our round though. Overall this was a really good test of golf and would come recommended as an enjoyable but not outstanding course. Just remember to get your hill-walking training done beforehand!

having played harewood several times over recent years i was surprised to read the negative comments of the previous golfers.i have always along with my fellow golfers found the course to be all round well presented especially the greens, having said that the greens at times just recently have been a bit inconsistant but i have been informed that this is due to the reconstruction that has taken place on some of the greens over the last few years and is due to be completed in 2009 i will continue to visit on a regular basis.

Have to agree with the previous reviewer I'm afraid, just not good enough. A few members who realised we were part of a group of visitors said what a pity it was that we could have better conditions, with one committee gentleman apologising for the state of the greens. Granted, the new clubhouse is nice, but they need to spend a lot more time and money on the course to bring it up to scratch. We have a group of eight who regularly play 'away' courses and have a stableford game amongst us. The guy who won scored 28 points, such was the state of the course. Some of us only just made double figures! Sorry Harewood Downs, I don't like writing such reviews but I have to be honest.

Played 5th August in a small society and were made to feel very welcome. All arrangements were extremely efficient and the meal afterwards excellent. The course was beautifully presented and very challenging. The greens were fast and with plenty of borrows. An absorbing and interesting course to which we shall return.

A beautifully managed course. Suitable for any standard of golfer. The greens are particularly good to putt on. A perfect course for a society day out. The club is very friendly and well run with an air of class. The 'slice can get you into a little trouble so beware!

This course really was a pleasure to play. The greens were receptive and of a reasonable pace and the course is a credit to the green keeping staff. My only question was where were the members? We played there on a really hot day with the course almost to ourselves the bar was even empty during the evening. A true pleasure but a really hilly in places. ANDY
