I really enjoyed my round at Hamilton Golf Club. I had never played the course before so I was impressed with the quality of the layout and the facilities, particularly the clubhouse that sits behind the 18th green. The course was a joy to play...a test especially when it comes to the intelligent placement of the bunkers on the course. It was not TOO tough, and some holes are a bit short yardage but it is not a bombers paradise because of the bunkering. My only two gripes were that there has been a large amount of trees felled recently which was not easy on the eye, but I know this will change in time. A couple of the greens looked a bit worse for wear but this did not affect the speed or roll, which is of a medium to fast pace. I would definitely play here again, and may even consider applying for a membership in the future.

Played today. Superb course. A classic Braid parkland layout with some fine mature trees and some cracking holes. It may not be the longest but it remains testing with plenty of preotection for the greens and many well-placed fairway bunkers to catch anyone hitting 260-300yrds. The condition of the course was outstanding for the time of year. They were playing preferred lies but I didn't need this once. It is certainly the best-drained course that I have played in the area this winter. If I'm forced into a minor gripe, the flags were a bit tattered. Off-course looked good too (although I did not really use the facilities) and the members friendly. Highly recommended.

Played mid-May, and the course was looking in fine condition. A couple of the greens had been heavily sanded, to try and bring them on a bit, but other than that all was in tip top condition. A credit to the greens-staff.

We played this course last July 2001, and the 4 ball that played it all found it to be in exelent condition and a great layout. The only problem we had was harrasment from Women members, apparently Wednesday is their day to play between 10.00 and 14.00 hrs. This did not put us off and we would gladly go again.
