myself and 3 friends played Gosforth in a open texas scramble and it was a course i was looking forward to playing after hearing good things about the course. it was a bit of an unusual drive in but once you cross the little bridge that seperates the car park from the course you get your first real look at the 18th! ill come back to that later! the course is split into 2 seperate sections by the bridalpath (which the course is commonly known as) and in general i thought the course was very good. the stand out holes for me would be 4th, 6th, 14th, 15th and 18th which is a tough, TOUGH finishing hole! the fairways were dry and quick but the greens were immaculate on the day and i would suspect they have been heavily watered for several days before hand (it has been extremely dry and we havent had rain for several weeks) and you knew if you were hitting a good putt on the right line it had a great chance of dropping. a definate hats off to the greenstaff for the course conditions. overall the course was nice and it had the feeling of a very friendly golf club. i would definately return and i dont think i would ever tire of playing the 18th - simply one of the toughest closing holes ive ever played! overall - 7.5 out of 10 (value for money based on the £10 each competition fee we paid)

Played here late March 2010 whilst on business in the area. Good Points: Very friendly and helpful pro. Took the time to explain the course and made me feel most welcome. He also readily pointed out that the course was using 12 temporary greens. An easy walk with few severe undulations and some parts of the course are picturesque. Not So Good Points: Course lacks variety and some parts are surrounded by rather unpleasant looking roads/housing although when the trees are in full bloom I'd expect those to be hidden. Bit flat and uninteresting and the par 4's are much of a muchness. Worth a visit but I've played better in this part of the world.
