2 reviews of Glossop and District Golf Club
played this course in April 2015 with my teenage son teed off 4.30pm his first time on the course he loved the challenge, as the previous review stated the dogleg 6th can be a challenge if your approach shot comes up short it can make an interesting next shot, the 7th has a lovely view of the area but not of the green which is tucked away behind some well placed trees.
the fairways are forgiving and the two par 3's can be a challenge especialy to the beginner the first is a tee shot over a ditch and the last has a water ditch in play short of the green
but I would recommend anyone to play this course
I have played glossop a few times now and find it to be a very enjoyable course. Some of the views are fantastic, especially form the 7th/16th holes.
I must state it isn't an easy course with quite a few blind holes and sloping fairways. I struggled with the 6th hole, you have to clear a distance of bushes which as a beginner is off putting enough. Then you have a dogleg right up on to the green which is at the top of a steep slope, beware if you dont get it right your ball roles down the hill past where you originaly hit it from.
I rate this course as a great course to play on and recommend it to anyone.
