Was a member for a few years in the 90s and played today as a visitor with my 13 year old son for a total of £35. Was how i remembered it with very little alteration apart from adding a small ditch in the middle of one of the par 4s. A decent golfer will have no trouble whatsoever getting round this course and the last 6 holes were very much tin hat golf with very little space from the tees on one hole to the greens of the previous one etc. would imagine it would REALLY slow play up on a busy day. For £35 for the two of us decent value for money and one a higher handicapper could enjoy but i suggest any serious single figure would not be tested one little bit
Played the course this week and found it to be in superb condition. The greens were immaculate. Good value for money at £15 each (with a 2-fore-1 voucher) but beware arriving too early, as they only allow visitors to tee off after 10a.m.
Played this course yesterday. First time since it was changed to 18 holes as was originally 12. I'd go along with the other comments. Great club. Greens and fairways are superb. Mostly tight especially on the old part of the course and the weather a major factor. Usually windy from the East down the valley. Holes are very good and interesting - not too long. Only way I can fault this course is there's too many O.O.B within the course and most of them seem uneccessary, i.e they are in places to protect hitting people on other tees rather than in places where advantage may be taken from e.g cutting corners ?
I PLAYED THIS COURSE TODAY (18/7/2003)USING A FORE 2 FOR 1 VOUCHER.BOTH MY FRIEND AND I FOUND IT TRULY AMAZING VALUE.A VERY GOOD VARIETY OF HOLES ALL IN IMMACULATE CONDITION WITH EXCELLENT GREENS AND DRAINAGE ADDS UP TO A COURSE ID LOVE TO BE A MEMBER OF.VERY FRIENDLY MEMBERS AND STAFF MEAN WE WONT WASTE OUR VOUCHERS ON ANY OTHER COURSES.TRY IT.
This course though not long has some great holes with some great par 3s plenty of trouble off the tee with mature trees and plenty of water. The par 3 17th is the best par 3 I have ever played with a big pond in front and trees all down the left with bunkers to the left and right with the wind off the left makes it even harder, very freindly people as well.
