5 reviews of Gairloch Golf Club

I had the great pleasure of learning how to try and play golf at Gairloch. Having recently played there again it is good to see the course has matured into an interesting links come inland type of shenanigan.\r\n\r\nFrazer Gillespie\r\n16/06/99\r\n

I have been a member at Gairloch for 40 years and it still presents a challenge.\r\nThe par 5 eigth hole must be one of the most spectacular holes in the whole of Scotland. It follows the wonderful 93 yard par 3 seventh which is surrounded by rocks so dont miss it.\r\nThe local members and green keeeper are to be congatulated in their work of recent years in making the golf course so enjoyable.

The attraction of playing at gairloch is the sandy soil which gives wondeful drainage, the outstanding hole is the 8th par 5, positioning and driving along the side of a cliff top, to make a dog leg left, a satisfying birdie hole.

I played here twice and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. The views out to Loch Gairloch and as far as the Isle of Skye and beyond are breathtaking. The 8th par 5 is particularly challenging. Thoroughly recommended.
