Played today for £74 (£54 adult and £20 junior ticket) for my 13 year old son- handicap 11. He is a much better golfer than me and demonstrated that by going round the course in 74 (Par 71) and he would have done better still had heavy rain not come round halfway round the course when he was one under after 10. The course itself although quite short was in a beautiful woodland surrounding especially the front nine which were an absolute delight to play. Just a pity heavy rain came down later on. Being objective at £54 for an adult it was a little steep and was should have been a bit lower. Some really good holes but a slightly disappointing finish with the last couple being bog standard par 4s. Lovely clubhouse with refreshments and i was offered a free slice of cake and a cup of coffee as its was my birthday..............

Four captains visiting. Greeting couldn't have been more welcoming. Lady Secretary introduced me to clubhouse, opening tee and men's locker room. I then had a lovely light lunch in their beautifully presented clubhouse. A chat with the very pleasant and communicative club pro (looks after ladies and gents club)and off we went. The course killed me! Not far offline with drives, but the heather hides your ball, and pitching wedge was only option to get out of it - all four of us suffered rows with Heather, but I argued with her more than others! So despite the fact I scored so badly - what of the course? Tight, lovely condition, small well kept greens, certainly not the course's fault I scored so badly. Some beautiful holes, particularly par 3s. Central holes of round particularly pleasant. First few, last few not as strong. Sat in 'Monkey House' after round with cans of beer (no draught available) looking over course and we all considered how vital it is to keep on fairways. Who needs a driver anyway? Visit - you'll love it (and hate Heather) Challenge rating depends on how straight you hit.

Played this great course with a society on the 29/1/10. After all the snow and rain in January this course was in excellent condition. The fairways and greens were in superb condition. Tight fairways and small greens made this a great challenge. Well done to all the staff who look after this course. Hope to come back here again and again.

No praise high enough for the condition and layout, don't be put off by the name formby ladies a superb little course. A little tip play the par 5's as 4's for the men makes for an excellent day for the society. Highly recommended, not to be missed. Tea and cakes superb and thier not from tesco's.
