Booked a weekend break for 12 all with varying handicaps from 10 to 28. Although not a long course it has enough mix of holes for all handicaps. The course itself is in very good condition and the greens were very true. The greens were a little slow but thats probably due to the amount of people playing they keep them a little longer to resist damage. The only gripe we had was that if you stray 5ft from the fairway the rough is so long youve probably lost your ball and this led to 5+ hour rounds due to people looking for there ball and we had 3/4 groups sometimes waiting at tees. If they just had a decent 2nd cut of rough it would improve round times dramatically. Hospitality was great with good value food and drinks and clean rooms. So in short Good value for money but sort the rough for improved round times.

A beautiful course, this course is spread out over a wide space of the forest and is really looking at its best recently. Very well looked after and the greens are playing great. There is lots of testing water around the greens and makes sure that your shots have to be on target. It is also a course that is not to difficult to walk as it is not to hilly. It is great value for money and would reccommend anyone to vist.

Took our Graftons GS to the FoD in the second week of July, handicaps ranged from single figures to high teens. Although not overly long or tight, everyone enjoyed the course with opportunities for all to score well.Make sure your putters working well as the greens were quick,in excellent condition with the a true roll. All the staff from the hotel were courteous and helpful, with head of house Judy working tirelessly all weekend. Many thanks also to the Pro Stuart Jenkins who looked after all our golfing needs. All in all well worth a visit.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course in May 2010. The course was in great shape with the greens playing true, fairways well cut, plenty of interest on the holes. Only issue was not enough sand in the bunkers. Hospitality in the clubhouse was great and this is a great value hotel style course to play. Personal favourites are the 16th, a great par 5 down to a well protected green before the beautiful looking par 3 17th played from tiered tees to a green 150 yards away but fronted by 3 bunkers.

This is the 7th time i have stayed at the bells and i bring at least 18 golfers and everyone returns so that tells you something. The course is challenging for modest golfers like ourselves the staff are brilliant the food is much better that the wife's and we will be back on the 12th September and no doubt we will be there next year too.

Spent a Sunday night at the Bell's Hotel, playing on the Sunday and Monday. The whole deal was fantastic value for money, excellent hotel, food, golf shop and course. The course isn't too long, but each hole is interesting - plenty of bunkers, hills and water on a few holes. Well worth a vist!

Very enjoyable course, a good test for all levels of golfer. We went at the end the end of September on a 2 day break and the facilities were ideal for the price. The course was in superb condition and we were made to feel very welcome. The 8th (Henry's) is a lovely Par 3.

Outstanding value for money - good testing course but also fairly forgiving - very nice obliging people, and the food and accommodation was excellent.

A memorable course, not least because I hit my first and only ever hole in 1 on the 6th! That aside the 16th is definately a great golf hole. It can be reached in two, but the shot is blind very long and a great danger of getting your ball wet. Better to think the hole through. All in all a good little course. Beware of societies, they seem to be of poor standard using the course as a starter course. But the people we met were friendly and have been returning year after year (always a good recommendation). The hotel facilities are also good for the overall golfing package and the town is nearby. The only downside are the views which considering the area are destinctly urban!

This course is in excellant condition and maturing evertime i go back to play. Very pretty holes and an excellant clubhouse and golf shop, even though when i needed a cap the shop assistant recommended the latest Ping one with its unique sweat band for £15. Bargain i thought until my playing partner returned on the 10th with a reasonable Pinnacle cap + 15 free balls for the same price. Some very long holes, with water coming into play - my favourite is the long par 5 16th with its 2 level green, stream in front and pond to the right. Easy:-)
