Flint Golf Club

I played here on 1st August. £10 for 18 holes but you must pay cash. This is not clear from their website which does however $give a good description of the 9 holes.
The weather was uncertain so I decided to play one ball from each of the alternative tees. The only real difference is between the 1st & 10th where the extra 30yds make the 10th a really good hit but for both aim well right of the green.
The 403 yd 2nd is a good dogleg where a long drive reveals more room on the left than is apparent from the tee.
The 3rd is a straightforward short par 5 & the 4th an insane dogleg par 4. You are told not to drive until advised by the group in front but you cannot see the green or the next tee and there is no bell. A tee shot straight at the green is fun though a lay-up to the corner is the wise option.
5th is a dull downhill par 3 but the 6th is a good downhill 450yd dogleg with a tricky drive and a small green. 7th though short is not a gimme birdie. The 9th is a good birdie chance.
The best hole is 8th with a really hard tee shot. A very good drive will find that the fairway widens to the right but the shot is usually into the wind. The wise would play it as a par 5.
Greens were true thought very slow after recent rain. My decision to play both 9's at once prived a wise one but a combination of the trees and a good umbrella kept me dry.
Good fun though not easy to locate.
