course is totally changed from a nine hole par three course, is now an ideal course for beginners, family and average handicappers as it hosts a nine hole pitch and putt course,a six hole par three course, and recently a short game area has been added. have played both six and nine hole courses with my two sons and actually enjoyed it as nine hole pitch and putt was fun and the six hole course can challange most golfers to par it. will be back next week to try and par or better. give it a go and see for yourself....

I am a regular visitor to Euxton Park's golf course and really enjoy every visit. The staff are friendly and the cousre is always looked after. There are many new features which always make it a challenging round. The price of £5 for 18 holes is a real baragain.

WOW! what a turn around. I've been playing Euxton Park's course for years and i've never seen it in better shape. Everything is now manicured which always encourages a swift return. The place is clearly on the up with membership available and even monthly competitions that can be played in by all-comers. Keep up the good work!

i have just played at euxton park or should i say sleepy meadow.i played here about 2 years ago and it was pathetic but i heard that it was undergoing a lot of work. it is miles better than before and looks like it will only get better and it is worth playing especially for the money.

The golf course at Euxton Park now seems perfectly playable. There are plenty of signs that work both has and is taking place on all all aspects of the course. There seems to have been a concerted effort made in recent months to maximise the course's potential. The greens now run true, the existing bunkers hve been renovated, there are additional bunkers that are also manicured, rakes are provided, white, yellow and red hazard stakes are visible, new tee boxes have been cut and apporiate tee markers are provided. Due to these facts the course is enjoyable to play. The other comments on this page now seem to be outdated and unfair due to the recent and drastic improvements. It must also be noted that the course has undergone a name change. 'Sleepy Meadow' is the course's new name and although the jury is out on this it will at least, hopefully, represent a fresh approach to greenkeeping issues at the course. Robin Smith (27/02/05)

im only 12 and have played euxton many times. i can sum this course up in one word ,pathetic. In winter the place is a puddle of mud and in summer there are rabbit droppings al over. I have never seen the fairways and greens been mown ever. it is only 2 pounds for juniors but i would rather pay extra to go to a decent course like duxbury

DREADFUL! The only word that comes to mind. I have been playing golf round the northwest for 5 years and this is by far the worst course I have ever played. I don't think there are any greens staff at all. The course was basically a field. Fairways not mown, Greens with more dirt than grass. No water in the water hazards. No sand in the bunkers. There is no, and I mean zero, drainage, and to cap it all.. an open sewer runs through the field.. and the smell is obscene. If you're looking for a small par 3 course in this area try Vallynette, Charnock Brow or Yarrow Valley.. but not this one.

An Ideal Course for first time / young golfer.Quite short but sometimes tricky holes. Quite boggy when wet, but well worth the experience for fledging golfers.
