Played the full 18-hole course for the second time with a society on Saturday 3rd May 2014 and I do feel that's it a good test of your game. Whilst it's not an obviously tricky course from the course guide, or even when you're playing it, it resists most efforts to get on top of it.
The only hole that could be classed as a potential signature is the 200+ yard par 3 15th where the tee is seriously elevated from the green and a pond intrudes quite considerably into the potential landing area from the left. Yet the course still keeps you honest as there are very few flat areas between the tee and green, so you're almost always on a slope of some description. The greens were fast and true with some deceptive breaks in them. There were 18 in our society party and the winner scored 34 points with everyone assuming that someone else must be taking the course apart. It seems benign, but it isn't!
You should play this course if you get the chance and some of the views from the back 9 are absolutely spectacular.
played top course greens true and fast, some very tricky putts.some lovely holes a couple of bland par 3s but one majestic one. overall a good test of golf.
Bottom is good for a pitch and putt
Top is meant to be the "better". Played it in September and was in really poor condition. Wouldn't recommend it!!!
as i live near to the course,i try to play when possible.as i have a 28 handicap playing the bottom course is still a challlenge.
as the fairways are preety wide and flat it is not easy to lose your ball.overall a very nice challengeing golf course
