I played this course a couple of days ago during a period of very warm weather. I must say that the greens were pretty bad with spike marks everywhere and an unkept woolyness to the greens that was quite disapointing. The front 9 was entertaining but the back 9 is full of driveable Par 4's which is not ideal.
Played here on a sunny October Monday(£22.50 each using the Telegraph Open Fairways card).A pretty good parkland /downland course that has a quality feel to it & that nearly lived up to expectations.Situated at the top of the downs there are fantastic views from many parts of the course.
There was a nice welcome from the helpful lady in the pro shop & we were straight off with no one in front of us or behind us all the way round. The superb front 9 is hard to fault with a good variety of holes & some dramatic elevated tees with sweeping fairways down below. The back 9 is flatter in character & is pleasant enough but a bit samey. It has 8 successive par 4s followed by a disappointly mundane par 3 last.
General course condition was good. Quality tees & the greens were great to put on.Although looking not quite in mint condition they ran true & putted at a perfect lively pace.
This is an excellent driving course where you can use the driver all the way round due to the generous fairways.I feel the £30 standard green fee is a bit overpriced (maybe to keep it more exclusive) but overall it's a quality couse worth playing.

This is a real golf club, friendly and welcoming with no pretentiousness. The course is set high on the hills above Dunstable but is a flat track,it can get a bit windy but is very very playable, ideal for a society venue.I like the idea you dont have to have a full meal after, they accomodated us with a fine High Tea,sausages, eggs chips and a desert, just what you want on a winters day.
Not sure about the green fees 62.00 stated seems a little over the top I think its less than that.

Really superb course in excelent condition. The greens have to be seen to be believed. There isn't really a flat part of the green to aim at (well at least I couldn't find one). They were also very fast and true. It is a real pleasure to play there and £62 per day is well worth it.
