3 reviews of Dean Wood Golf Club
did not know what to expect from this rural setting golf course and was not dissapointed... flat, lush first nine although do need your whits about you as a number of early tee-offs close to greens but it did not spoil the enjoyment... second nine completely differ with undulating fairways and greens cut into hillsides, par 4 11th great hole with slight up hill drive then accurate pitch req,d to inviting green(s.i.1) took 8 golfers to play and ALL had great time. Club house stewardess made us feel welcome with good hearty banter, Will return next year.
Played Friday July 6th with my local society.
This is a course with two very contrasting halves, the first nine is quite flat with tight fairways and plenty of out of bounds to challenge you.
The back nine on the other hand is quite undulating with some really picturesque tees.
I found the club members very helpful and friendly, also the food and service in the clubhouse was excellent.
On the whole I was very impressed with Dean Wood and would have no hesitation in recommending anybody playing this course.
I have been fortunate to play a number of courses throughout the world and rate Dean Wood amongst the highest, including tournament venues. The course is always presently extremely well and is a good test of golf. The warm friendly atmosphere is apparent from the moment you enter the car park.
This course must be played!!!
