AFTER READING REVIEWS ON THIS COURSE ON NOMEROUS WEBSITES, I WAS PLEASENTLY SURPRISED. THE VIEWS OF SNOWDONIA AND CARDIGAN BAY ARE BREATHTAKING. UNUSUAL COURSE SET UP , THERE ARE NO BUNKERS WHAT SO EVER ON THE COURSE, BUT DONT LET THAT FOOL YOU THERE ARE SOME TRICKY HOLES, THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT I CAN MAKE IS THE GREENS COULD DO WITH A BIT OF WORK ON THEM.BUT ALL IN ALL IT WAS A PLEASURE TO PLAY AND WOULD RECOMMEND TIS COURSE TO ALL.

The infamous sheep and electric fences around the greens were removed several years ago and Criccieth is now a much improved golf course worthy of a visit when touring the Llyn Peninsula courses. Awesome views of Snowdonia and Cardigan Bay particularly from the 16th tee.

set against beautiful mountain backdrops, with awsome views from almost every angle, Criccieth bosts the unusual features of sheep, roaming the fairways, and greens surrounded with electric fences. add to this the worrying aspect of dedications to dead members on most of the tee's and you have a course whose sum is simply greater than its parts. pure golfing bliss.

Another good course, some of the holes do have a farmers field feel but the greens and fairways are well kept. The 15th and 16th are just, well, wow. The 15th is the best hole I have ever played. A course to visit.
One gripe, some of the fairways at the top of the course don't seem to drain very well, if it very wet be prepared for you ball to plug in the fairways.
Despite that a great course, can't wait to visit again.

I have played Criccieth several times a year for the last 15ish years. I have watched the course improve from what was in real terms a farmers field with greens to what is now a well looked after and obviously loved course by it's members. Hole 15, where the green is 70/80 foot above you on top of a cliff is both fantastic to play and once you are on the green (if you're lucky enough to hit it!) has some spectacular views of Snowdonia and Criccieth Castle. Hole 16, which is only about 70 yrds in length is a joy to play as the green is easily 150 below your feet. Consider it well played if you can hit the green and keep your ball on it!! The clubhouse has a very freindly and welcoming atmospere. Food when available is basic but well cooked and the beer is usually very well kept. This course is one which should not be missed...

I played this course several months ago during the summer. The Standards of the fairways and greens were very good were very good. The facilities were adequate and neat. Each hole was unique in comparison to the next, Challenging each attribute of the golfer (which affected my junior handicap of 14). Me and my father were very impressed.10 out of 10 for course construction. Picturescly set.
