Have played Colne several times now both for leisure and in competition, as my brother in law is a member. I always thoroughly enjoy it, and must admit I've yet to feel I've beaten the course. Each hole is individual, and the fact that it is nine-hole should not put you off playing.
Par three's on course are tricky, and despite the final hole appearing short, the green is hard to find with second shot - or at least I find it so, being pushed tight against OB and containing many slopes and turns - seem to always end up down the bank on left!
Clubhouse is very friendly and comfortable. I had a carvery lunch after comp and it was excellent.
