A great club for members and visitors alike. Really friendly and a good challenge for all; the coarse may only be 9 holes , but with 18 tee's most holes are totally different. Great food served in a very modern newly built clubhouse, that is well kept and very useful.
A nine hole course which will really test out your handicap. There are a variety of holes which present different challenges, be they the short par 3 4th with trees on two sides and deep bunkers on a third, or the sharp dog leg right of the 7th which will tempt, and probably trap, the shortcut merchants. Most holes involve up or down hill lies at some point, and plenty of trees, to greens which have been very well maintained. It is a course which will still be open when all around are closed due to waterlogging.
The clubhouse is not inspiring but cosy, with good food at good prices and excellent choice of guest beers from around the country which change every week. Members are friendly and helpful. The club shop is not always open, but carries good stock. The course is almost never crowded, don't be surprised if you don't see anyone else on you way round (members and guests only at weekends, but be aware of course etiquette when teeing off at the first.
I am reticent to post this glowing report as I wouldn't want too many people to find out about this hidden jewel. "What? Play a nine hole - that's pitch and putt isn't it?" - I'd put money on it beating your handicap!
