Tried to play this golf course as a visitor,to say we were made to feel unwelcome by the members playing is an understatement.Paid our fees, procedeed to try n tee off at first, told by member we had to tee off from the 10th.Went to tenth tee, then told by 2 balls (members) all 4 balls to tee off from first.Back to first then same scenario, from member strolling over from the club house hand in air. Absolute joke. Got full refund back and went to play somewhere friendly .
I played this golf course alot with other members and i must say this golf course is no walk over despite its length. I play of a 4 handicap and some of the shots required especially of the par 3's( of witch there are 8 of) need to be pin point accurate. For example, the par 3 3rd hole playing 237 of the whites has a a sloping green( of witch a 2 putt is all ways welcome). On the left, a bunker and a pond, on the right 2 deep bunkers a ditch and large trees. I believe any professional would be happy with a par on that hole!
Admittedly there is difinatily a low score to be had due to the shot par 4's but u need to be hitting the ball exactly where u want as this is a very tight golf course and if u leave urself out of position a bogey or worst is almost cirtain.
And then there are the greens.... small ,very quick subtile breaks (i dont think there is a stright put on the whole golf course) and some have a huge slope to them. For example the 13th which sloped heavly from back/right to front/left. i placed a ball on the back right portion and it rolled of the front of the green!!!
In the summer this golf course is in amazing condition(dare i say the best in kent)
The staff are very helpful and polite and the clubhouse is unique as its fomer resisdance was Napolian III.
All this makes for a very good golfing experience, im my opinion this golf course is a gem and must be played.
Well done chislehurst golf club
Have played this course alot recently. It has the best greens I have ever seen. The course is very well kept, always looks 100%! The course is very short, only par 66, with 8 par 3's. However, all the par 3's are a good test. This is a lovely course and deserves a visit.
I have played here with a society day and we were made very welcome. A nicely laid out tightish course with some superb par 3 holes, which whilst short require extreme accuracy. Note in particular the >130 yd uphill blind tee shot from which you have to carry an old world war II bomb crater of some 50 yds wide and 25ft deep!
