6 reviews of Brampton Golf Club
having played brampton on a short wk/end break along with eden, brampton won hands down by all 6 in the party. all greens were true & exellent, fairways great, rough punishable, the junior pro was a credit to the club. the hospitality both in the shop & club house from a junior was 1st class. one of our party had a hole in 1 so made his day special, we all said we will definatley return again (possibly twice) next year, thanks to all at brampton,k. williams co/durham.
WHAT A COURSE!!!!!
we played here on the 25th June and although the weather wasnt great and having already played carlisle in the morning, this was by far the better of the 2 courses in my opinion!!
we played £19 each on 2 fore 1s and if there is a better deal in the north of england im yet to find it! the course is stunningly beautiful with views to die for. the first and second holes dont really do the course justice but once you step onto the 3rd tee your in for a real treat.
i dont really think i have any particular favourite holes (there were so many to be honest)! but i can honestly say each hole had its own characteristic and felt different to the last.
i dont want to big up the course too much - so all im going to say if you have the chance to play brampton take it and experience it for yourself.
i will defo be returning in the very near future!
Had a wedding weekend in Gretna beginning September 07. Took 2 of my best mates as a treat, and that it was. Rates as one of the best courses I have played in this country. Some real challenging holes, with superb undulating fairways. Some of the scenery is breathtaking. If I had one critisism it would be the holes that cross, at times leading to slow and pressured play. Am not getting married again, so will have to make a special trip to come back!
Fantastic course. Eight of us played here in glorious sunshine on the 15th September 2006. Stunning scenery, course in top condition and perfect for a day's golf. The course is reasonably short but positioning of the ball is paramount. I would recommend a buggy if you are playing more than 18 holes. Very friendly club and at £15 per day on the 2 fore 1 vouchers, I doubt you could get better value golf in England.
What a lovely course!
Played there on 20/09/02 in a Society trip on the way up to Scotland.
Having read reviews of the course beforehand, my party was full of trepidation.
Worries that were unfounded.
Hilly......yes, challenging.......yes, but definitely not the monster we had been led to believe.
We were fortunate enough to play on a gorgeously sunny day with no wind to speak of that would affect our less than perfectly hit shots.
Great clubhouse.
Greens.......marks 8 out of 10.
Friendly natives.
A must play again course.
Best hole: the 11th....a tough par 4 in anybody's book
Favourite hole: 14th (won ntp on it)
Overall: 8 out of 10

I have played this course many times, and always enjoyed the experience.\r\nIt's an extremely hilly course-the local legend is if you can make it past the thirteenth you are in good shape!\r\nA beautiful course, especially when the sun emerges! I recommend not bringing too many clubs on a hot day unless your an athlete!
