Lovely moorland course with a couple of hills not for the feint hearted. Greens in lovely nick. Some really interesting holes and with those hills you do have to think about club selection. very friendly membership who all seem to wave at you as they pass. Lovely atmosphere in the clubhouse too. Made to feel very welcome as a visitor.

We played this course Monday 22nd November courtesy of the Secretary as we a looking for a new club to join. First impressions are of a well established club with a bit of a dowdy exterior to the clubhouse. They obviously take care and pride ofthe course as the winter rules are play of winter tee mats and use fairway mats or move the ball the first cut of rough. They have had some drainage issues on greens and are in the process of renewing the old soil pipes with new plastic ones. This meant some greens had been taken out of use and others had strips of turf which been relayed and needed to bed down.Overall the course was in much better condition than 2-3 others we have played previously The course has some relatively short par 4s which for big hitters may be in range in a dry summer. The front 9 has some steep inclines, with interesting club choices for uphill and downhill tee shots even on Par 3 holes. The course could do with some better signage from one hole to another especially 4 to 5 but the friendly locals put us on the right track. Hole 10 is a real treat and in summer with the trees in leaf could frighten one or two. Overall a very enjoyable round and a good course for all abilities although beginners may be put off by the slopes and inclines. Once inside the clubhouse you find it warm and welcoming with good facilities. Anyone in the area looking for their first or a change in club should definitely have a good look at this course and the offers currently available; it is top of our list.

recently played all day with a buggy for £24 per player. excellent course which is well looked after although the greens were quite slow for the time of year. The course is very hilly but most holes you are free to try and smash your driver , a top day out which was enjoyed by all our party. The guy in the pro shop was very friendly and helpful.

I played this course on a day which included several rainshowers and strong breezes. I found it a lovely course although not for the faint-hearted. Hole 8 is another one of those "cardiac arrest" hills and there are one or two areas where players need to be of a fairly fit nature to fully enjoy the trek. All in all, it is an extremely nice course to play. The staff are friendly (although on the day I played, there were no caterers so food was limited). One criticism is the lack of signs indicating the direction to the next hole. Indeed, the course itself was easy to miss due to the lack of directions on the main road.

This is one of the finest tests of golf you will find in this part of Lancashire. Hole 1 has to be played with caution as the car park can come into play on a windy day. Hole 10 is very good par five from an elevated tee.
