Played in the 4 man Texas Scamble match on Saturday, and for the money this course has to be played! The opening hole on paper looks an easy drive and wedge, but its a blind drive with out of bounds on the right and trees on the left. My advice to anyone playing here would be to buy a stroke saver, we only found them once we finished!! Dont expect a fully stocked pro-shop, but do expect a friendly wwelcome, and a fantastic location for golf

Played the course on 9 July 2009 and the course was in fantastic condition (maybe with the exception of some of the bunkers). The welcome we received was very friendly. The guy who signed us in volunteered to explain the course to us using overhead photographs. We both enjoyed playing the course, with some challenging holes amongst a few more straightforward holes. The signature hole it the par 5 twelth, which incorporates a dog leg followed by a steep climb with a green on top of a plateau. Well worth a visit.

Played this course 4.8.06. Very hilly and scenic course. However, greens are in a disgraceful state with bald patches and uneven tufts of grass. i do not know if they are victims of the drought or else are diseased. Either way, they were in such bad shape that I do not think the course should have been open to the public !

We visited the course on 9th May 06 and received a very friendly welcome from staff and members alike.Catering facilities were somewhat sparse with the most expensive sandwiches We have ever known on sale.(I am told this is due to change). The weather was scorching and the fairways well maintained. Can,t say much for the greens though, they were very poorly maintained and uneven and detracted somewhat from one of the most enjoyable days golf you could wish for the money.Buggie prices were reasonable as were the drinks prices in the bar.Members couldn,t have been any friendlier and we hope to visit the course again this year. Thanks Alnwick for a good day out. The Derbyshire Lot.

I played the course on the 14th April 2004 as part of a 3 day golfing break with a 16 man society. I have to say everyone enjoyed playing the course, the fairways and greens in immaculate condition for the time of the year. Hospitality in the club house was the best I have ever have ever received at a golf club, Yanick and his team really went to lenghts to ensure our visit was a memorable one.

I played Alnwick with a friend in late July 03. The course was in very good condition with the greens being the best of the three courses we played on our mini break. The course layout is excellent and one of the best parkland courses in the area. The staff were very hospitable and i would recommend players of all abilities to try out this club. Once you pass the first three hilly but entertaining holes, the views of the surrounding countryside help you forget that your playing partner eagled the first hole !!

Played Alnwick for the first time on September the 4th 2002. What a beautiful course, from the first tee I knew I was going to enjoy this course. A bit hilly for the first 3 holes, then the course is more undulating (fortunately me and my partner had a buggy). Some of the greens were a bit burnt with the sun but were lovely to putt on. Stunning views from most holes makes this course a must play I will certainly be going back in the near future.

The best course I played during my long weekend in northumberland. Beautiful layout, superb greens, good variety of holes. The 3rd hole is a real tester where a poor second shot up a steep narrow hill can see your ball end up further away from the green than before you played it, as happened to both my playing partner and myself. This course just has to be played.
