Having played most of the clubs in Cheshire I put this up there with the big boys. Played on 21st May 2015 paid £15, an absolute bargain. The course is well laid out with some tough holes. This course must be a good test for all golfers. If you have a high handicap laying up might be a good plan. A very pretty course with a lot of pine trees. A course I think you could recommend to anyone

This course has improved enormously over the past few years. Forget the terrible flooding issues they used to have - drainage is now excellent. This is a really interesting, challenging and well maintained course. If you are wayward or the wind is strong, take a few balls with you. Nice club house and a very commercially minded set up.

Hi just like to say how much we enjoyed your course. I rang just on the off chance we could get a tee time after the terrible weather we had on Friday. The gentleman who took the booking was very helpful and made us feel very welcome. Then the course what a lovely very pretty course it is and in great condition. We will be back and this time we will now where the ponds are, thanks again Gary from Liverpool.

What a find this course was. Exceptionally well kept and designed by well intended sadists. It has some very unforgiving holes where lost balls are very likely. I really enjoyed the course which had some interesting holes that next time i would play with more awareness. £20 for 18 holes is excellent value and i would definately recommend giving it a try. Take plenty of balls or play safe with accuracy before distance.

We play Aldersley every year with our society, simply because its the best value around. Great course thats always in superb condition, with some testing holes and excellent greens. Helpful staff in the pro shop - thanks Stephen - and a great meal to finish the day off. The ladies in the club house cant do enough for you, very friendly club, you must visit

Played here for the second time on 16th September 2010 and the course was as fantastic as I remember. I think there had been a charity event on in the morning and some of the pin positions were tricky! Some stunning holes, and the course was in fantastic condition once again. A very friendly club, and a fantastic course. A must play if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed. I have played some top courses over the last couple of years and this is one of my favourites if not the favourite. Only problem is that it is 250 miles from where I live! If it was on the doorstep, I would join tomorrow!

Have played this course a dozen or so times over the last few years and have been pleased to see the improvements particularly to the drainage (notably the 12th Fairway). A group of us played 3 weeks ago after a particularly wet night during the wetest November since records began and apart from a bit of bogginess short and right of the 13th it was fine. Aldersey is a good test of your allround game; Go round bludgeoning your driver off the tee at every par 4 and 5 and it will certainly end in tears! Course management is more important here than on any I've ever played and even the most masterful of tacticians will lose a few balls; The long 3rd and 13th par 3's are a veritable graveyard for the wayward. I travel nearly 30 miles (from Hoylake) to play here, frankly I dont know of a course nearer to my home thats more enjoyable to play for the money, I mean come on £15 and £10 after 3pm, the local "hacked to death" Muni costs more than that!

We played this course on 28th June 2009,although the greens were ok ( but a bit slow ) the fairways were not very good at all, it looked like they had not been cut for days, they were full of clover. The group behind us were members and ,as we were standing at our drives (waiting for group in front to move )they started to drive off , this happened four times ! "unbelievable" . We are going back in September (all ready paid)and we are hoping for a better round. The lay out of the course is good .

We have played this course several times over the last 12 months and we keep returning. The course has wildlife in abundance that makes the day even more enjoyable. Overall the course has several demanding holes where accuracy of the Tee is vital. After your first round you will have a better idea of placements so your next visit will not be as demanding. Lots of Water holes and tree lined fairways make this a good test for your average handicap golfer. Greens and bunkers in great condition even in the winter so its a credit to the green keepers and staff. It has been mentioned in previos ratings that this course does not paly well in the wet...well i do not now many course's that play that perticulaly well in the wet and this is no worse or better than others. Club house very obliging and a great bacon sandwich after the 9th hole..call on the 9th Tee and it will be waiting for you at the 10th tee...top draw...Club shop and manager always gives you a great welcome. I like this course/Club so much we became members today..my logic try the rest but keep going back to this little jem...

I am afraid I cannot agree with other player comments on this course. I played it on 14/9/08 and it was in poor condition. The greens were painfully slow and bumpy, and the fairways and many bunkers were sodden. The course layout was pretty but too many holes have been tricked up with substantial use of water hazards and in my opinion this ruins the course. The catering was very good (especially the bacon sarnies and the mushroom soup).

Played Aldersey Green last saturday with my 10 year old son. Cost £15 for the pair of us - absoulutely fantastic value for money. The course is quite tough, especially the first time round due to the numerous hazards which seem to appear from nowhere. Also, on a few holes it is important to hit the correct side of the fairway. There are some cracking holes, particularly the 5th, 7th and 9th on the front and 11th, 15th and 17th on the back. Greens were in good condition and the walk was very enjoyable with loads of wildlife and the feeling of tranquility. Could potentially be a slogfest in the winter though as even in August there were one or two soggy areas. Practice facilities are limited but the clubhouse was OK and the staff were very friendly. As it is only 5 miles from home I will definately be back for more.

Played the course at the weekend (12/4/8) with a society. The packaged offered was very good, lovely food and warm welcome. The course unfortunatly was very wet with alot of standing water on the fairways, although to be fair the greens where in very good condition. The slow faiways made for a bit of a slog around this picturesque course with alot of water (Not just the puddles) to contend with. I would like to revisit when there has not been so much rain. Overall I would recommend playing as long as you keep an eye on the weather leading up to your visit as the course finds it hard to cope with a lot of water.

Played this course in August 07 and sensational is the only way to describe it, especially for £10 after 3pm and thats not with 2-4-1 vouchers! Every hole is tree lined, great water features, very well kept course in great condition, with friendly staff and atmsphere. Would definately reccommend to anyone who is visiting the area. Some holes are tricky, first par 5 especially, 5th hole I think, requires long drive over a stream, lay up if you aren't a big hitter. Also, one or two long par 3's, may require woods off the tee. Overall, a fantastic course for the price, would have happily paid £30 for a round and would have still walked off believing great value for money!

What an amazing find this place is! It's in the middle of nowhere with just picturesque little villages nearby, it has loads of wildlife all over every hole such as swans, coots, rabbits, squirrels etc, every hole is a challenge and has something that differentiates it from the others, it's cheap, it's rarely busy...... what more do you want? I played it at 15:30 on 05 Aug 07 and there were about a dozen or so people on the course which considering its quality and the great weather was amazing. It cost us £10 each to play after 3pm and knowing now how good it is I would pay treble that to play it again. I'm going back there again soon with a society which is about £26 for 18 holes, tea/coffee bacon butties on arrival an 3 course meal afterwards. I played Heyrose just a couple of weeks ago which costs three times as much and does not come close to this place, you should definitely make the effort to play it, just take plenty of balls as there are plenty of trees and water (I lost 6 but still enjoyed it). One final tip. Unless you are unbelievably accurate with your driver, hit 3 wood or irons off most tees as accuracy is the key here.

Fantastic course, great value. Played here in March 2006, despite recent heavy rain and snow the course was in great condition. This course offers a good tests of golf in a nice scenic environment surrounded by wonderful wildlife. Despite not having the best of games this course was still a joy to play. Would recommend it over many of the far more expensive courses in the area.

Now this is a fine course in superb country surroundings, even the two lads appreciated it! Played on 2 fore 1 and proved to be excellent value for money. A true test for the 3 of us having never played it before, with so many water hazards catching us out on a regular basis. From the 1st with the two guard trees on the fairway demanding a straight drive and the pond at the back of the green, to the long par 3 3rd with out of bounds up the left and a ditch on the right, this proved to be a real challenge. It was a tough ask to keep the round together through those opening holes. Excellent lunch in an extremely friendly clubhouse here the two lads were made to feel very welcome. Would definitely recommend to other visitors.

Played here last week with a group of people from work. Great value for money on a difficult course. There are a large number of ditches and water traps. Beware of the squirrels though, a friend of mine was attacked by the bin on the 10th tee !!! I would definately play there again although I'll have to pack a few extra balls next time.

Just played this course for the first time this week-end and can't wait to play it again. For the price this is one of the best course around. With water hazzards on all but two or three holes it is well worth topping up your bag beforehand. Some of the hazzards don't actually come into play but your always thinking that they are there. Greens and fairways are excelent and course layout varied and challenging with a couple of long par three's. Roll on the weekend.

Great course played it for the first time. A lot of the holes are tight with a number of water hazards that make it a challenging course. Green fees only £10.00 until April, an absolute bargain. I would recommend this course to anyone.

This is one of the nicest courses i have played.Pleasing to the eye, lots of wild life, some very interesting holes with many water hazards.Clubhouse is very nice and staff friendly.Been here several times now and never been dissapointed yet.If your in the area you must give it a try.

I played the course for the very first time on 17 mar i enjoy my game so much and would like to commend you on a wonderful course there were just two small problems i found, 1. the tee's were not numbered. 2. a little plaque of the hole would have told me where i was going as the card was sometimes missleading other than that i hope our society will be back in the near future.
